ofc you don't, you don't wear anything that is a tiny bit slightly popular because you never grew out of your teens years, you still want to be different, to stick out no matter what, so much so that you will deny the factual qualities of things just because they are not obscure and unique. You hate The Dreamer because it's throws the reality of the world in your face ever time you smell it.
The dreamer isn't brilliant, it isn't exceptional, it isn't magical. It simply well put together, friendly, out going, doesn't quit and manages to fit in without changing in almost every situation. And that is more than good enough because the overwhelming majority of people love it. And this is documented time and time again, video after video and post after post. People love The Dreamer.
The Dreamer as a fragrance is what you wish you could be as a person, but aren't. Instead you'll sit around circle jerking the rare ingredients and exotic creations, lauding each other for your superior taste, looking down on the plebs who shower The Dreamer with compliments. Why don't they compliment you? Isn't it obvious how much better your fragrance is? It's niche for gods sakes!
Nevermind that you don't actually understand what niche even means.
So you'll post and post, seething and pretending to laugh at your own wit each time you meme about Bois Imperial. But one black day you'll crack and do the unthinkable: You'll buy The Dreamer. You won't post about it here of course , my god why would you? You have a completely anonymous reputation to protect! You'll spray it on and part of you will be ashamed and feeling transgressive, but a small sliver of you will feel hopeful for a change. Maybe, just maybe, today I'll be noticed. Today I'll get a compliment. I just want to feel what it's like one time, everyone else loves this stuff, surely there's one compliment left for me?

Some people complain that the coffee note is syrupy or synthetic, more like coffee-flavoured candy than actual coffee. Not the case with my nose - last week my girlfriend decided to grind coffee beans and make a fresh pot. I since I was still waking up, for a second my retarded drowsy ass was wondering why the whole apartment smelled like Halloween Man X. It’s some photorealistic shit, it just doesn’t smell like already-brewed coffee

Regardless, one of the other common complaints is that it smells very similar to Axe (Lynx) Dark Temptation. That just so happens to be the first “scent” I ever bought and enjoyed, and unfortunately I can’t dispute it. At least prior to the drydown it really reminds me of a middle school locker room. For that reason i wouldn’t recommend it to anyone over age 23, and even at that rate it’s probably only well served in a night club.

DH 2020 is too clean, not sexy. It's just citrus and woods. Yeah there's a certain dry warmth to the drydown but it's not particularly interesting and the mediocre performance and abysmal projection make that irrelevant anyway. It lacks something, it smells too much like a cleaning product or whatever than something sensual. The citrus is too sterile and bright, the woods are too airy.
I like DHI and DHP although I wouldn't really call them masculine, but there's something to them that makes them smell sexy. DH 2020 is not nearly as good. It's fresh enough, which is what I wanted because I was looking for a frag I could use for summer, but it's lacking in all other aspects.

Should I just buy Eros?

rahassanai is really good and prin makes bunch of different animalics. i think migra was popular too. on the designer side you have dali pour homme, kouros and ted lapidus pour homme but they're more in the civet/piss direction.

If you’re looking along the lines of daily drive designer drags I’d go with this fella (preferably with the magnetic cap, but that’s up for debate).

It won’t blow you away, but it’s the best all-situations summer workhorse there is. It has the freshness you’re looking for but also some smoky notes that up the maturity level — and make it usable outside the warm season. The performance is also fantastic (again, be mindful of batch)

Eros will leave you smelling like a bar star. If DH 2020 underwhelmed you, I wouldn’t just go with a run of the mill blue frag like that

>performance is also fantastic
This is the big problem with daily drive designers. I stopped wearing BDC because of that even though it's objectively a great frag.
>If DH 2020 underwhelmed you
It underwhelmed me because I don't find it masculine at all (whether DHI/P are masculine is up for debate but at the very least they're sensual). I like Eros because it has that sexy vibe, it's masculine, it's warm enough for colder days but also has a freshness to it that makes it very usable even during hot days.
Does it even qualify as a blue frag? It doesn't have much ambroxan, unless you're talking about the EDP.

Anyway, I'm open to suggestions.

I suggest you try Profumo again, maybe spray it on your wrist so you can get a sense of the dry down which is its strong suit. Can’t speak to its current quality/availability since I bought a 2019 bottle over Facebook, but yeah the longevity is great for a scent of its category, better legs than BdC certainly

If a masculine scent is what you’re looking for, you also can’t go wrong with something from the terre d’hermes line. I was in Sephora just the other day, eau intense vetiver was the standout for me. Earthy and woodsy as all fuck but still nice and citrusy at the top

>> No.17507313

>>17507296
I think I just don't like citrus scents when the note is something like lemon or bergamot or whatever. I like BDC because it's more of a sweet grapefruit, and Eros has orange but no lemon at the forefront. And I don't think I'm looking for something earthy either, I don't like Encre Noire and similar scents. Leather is nice (Tuscan Leather, DHP) but too heavy for summer. Vanilla is nice when it's done well in the drydown (DHI, Eros) but sometimes it's too much (Spicebomb/Extreme). I tried The One EDP but something about the drydown smells rancid as fuck to me, I actually think it smells bad. Fresh aquatics are fine but get boring quickly. I tried Le Male and The Dreamer but that scent DNA has something that bothers me, it's powdery but in the wrong way, smells too thick and heavy, especially when it's hot.
Honestly I don't really know what I want

I'll try Profumo again, anything else I should check out?

Last thread I asked about how to find a cologne a professor of mine was wearing years ago. What stood out to me about the fragrance was that it completely lacked the rubbing alcohol smell that pretty much every perfume I've ever smelled has. It took me a second to even realize it was cologne. How I've described it over the years was "wet granite and fresh mountain air after a rain."

Imagine my astonishment to discover the description of Hexennacht's Fallen Angel:

"has notes of rain-soaked granite, mountain air, petrichor, creeping ivy and damp earth. It is a parfum extrait."

Huh. Well maybe thats part of it. But even still, I just tried a few of my cologne, giving them time for the alcohol to evaporate off, and they're still identifiable as "perfumey." There's a soapy, chemical, deodorant, either sweet or musty, cleaning product like range of smells that immediately tip me off that its perfume. SOTD has been SUNG for a while now, I am saving my Dakar for hotter days.
Yeah you should if you think you like aromatic fougeres. It has good performance and I overspray it away to get through the day. If you want an old-school, spicy-fresh, woody, soapy everyday frag, there's not much else to get at that price. Other than Dakar. It is quiet nice and lasts long for modern standards (for now I got 6 hours, I think it is getting better with time). Cool bottle and juice colour. What the fuck are you waiting for, it's 15 bucks for 100 ml, nothing to lose, lots of laid back sleaze to gain.

It’s not grandpaish. Only by association. But it’s a frag from 1960. So I’m sure there’s some 80 year olds that have been wearing it for 60 years. But it’s quality and inexpensive. As far as quality/price ratio it’s tops. If you’re worried about wearing something someone’s grandpa wore, like a suit and tie, or Guerlain vetiver, try Guerlain vetiver extreme. >Azzaro PH
I personally hate it because i fucking despise anise, fuck anise, I hate it so much and APH has a very strong anise note. I guess it's good if you like anise? Less soapy clean, more aromatic than Sung, maybe too much.
>Zino
great but again, less soapy, more woody, but I get the same type of freshness here, Zino smells incredibly minty to me. I think I like Zino more honestly, it's surely a little more complex and refined. Still, sung is good at what it does, Zino has a slightly different purpose. If you tried Zino and you liked it I would say buy it instead of blind buying Sung.
>Kouros
nothing in common, don't worry. Nothing pissy or upsetting like Kouros, which I personally don't like. Not animalic at all. Which is good for an everyday frag.

Think of Sung as the winter woody Cool Water with way better performance. Even if you don't really love you'll end up using it, it's a great out of the shower scent to go do the most trivial stuff, won't upset people and you'll smell clean in a masculine cool way. Just take the sungpill already.

>Narciso For Him EDT
Have a bottle and no, it kinda reminds you of something with rain involved but it isn't petrichor at all. The violet leaves with the powdery musk reminds of flowers after being watered, or after a rain, but nothing near close to wet concrete/earth/granite which is another different thing, the petrichor thing.
Then there's the desert after a rain which has another name but that's more rare and petrichor basically can replace that without much trouble.
Narciso is a great frag but the ozonic attributes are overhyped, Fahrenheit performs better in that regard.

Ultra Male is supersweet fruity shit and I don't like fruity fragrances, at all. Vintage Avon black suede
it's dark but powdery, so not too dark.
Notes are musk, amber, clove, nutmeg, woods, oakmoss. Blended enough that none are particularly discernable it's just one cohesive and linear scent, the scent of black suede.
Performance is ok, not impressive but by today's standards moderate. I think it's an EDC concentration, probably the same as the aftershave. Appropriate for all seasons, lean towards winter daytime wear but it's not really warm or fresh so any season is fine.

fragrantica still hides reviews and is nothing but a website filled with paid shills. on a few fragrances, there are a lot of reviews made by people who have only made one review, added that fragrance as their fav frag and have never reviewed anything else. and then reviews which have received too many "thumbs down" will be hidden from the frag website. it doesn't matter if they are positive or negative reviews, by the way. some of my positive reviews of certain frags can not be found (except on my profile), no matter how hard you "search" for them. all reviews by date, positive reviews, negative reviews etc., none of them show it. this is also why you usually only find 10-20 negative reviews even of popular frags with 8000+ votes. it's not that there aren't more reviews, it's just fragrantica hiding them as they've been "thumbed down" by fans of that frag.

Either I remembered them completely wrong or Musk Oud has been changed. It used to be the deeper of the pair but now it seemed almost sweet. Like cane sugar syrup. Sultan has also a slight ear wax beginning (not as rough as El Nabil's Oud Black but also something I remember associated with Musk Oud rather than Sultan) and it goes away in 10 minutes to leave a rather rounded incense-y oud smell.

Almost immediately layered them together like I used to do in college. But yea, either they've been changed or my tastes have because I recognized the smell only half way. They made my watch strap smell like burnt steel kek. No regerts, maybe I just remembered them as better. Can scent memory be that embellishing?

Oh no! "normies" isn't /fa/ anymore.
What new word should I use this year? I'm sure the new word isn't brilliant, it isn't exceptional, it isn't magical. It simply well put together, friendly, out going, doesn't quit and manages to fit in without changing in almost every situation. And that is more than good enough because the overwhelming majority of people love it. And this is documented time and time again, video after video and post after post. People love the new word.

Been reading about the rain frags, one always stands out for being creamed around by people/shills and it's Ganymede by Quentin Bisch.
After reading user reviews it seems most people hate the shit out of it or warn about its nature due to being promoted as something they thought was different. The rainy violet and aromatic touches usually end up being described as salty leather with weird spice notes, reading a bit more it seems Quentin is not well-esteemed by the mainstream in terms of doing safe perfumes, he usually is considered an experimental guy which is okay and i like that except when the fucking bottle is 300 bucks.

I think that kind of guy is what develops new perfumery but the entire thing stinks of a transgressive form of the art, of putting your own feces and mismash ingredients to prove a point which is that you simply could, which is one of the biggest forms of hack; doesn't help many descriptions go about space travel and and feels rather than note breakdowns.
Don't know what to say, i find odd how few designer houses go for the ozonic accord despite being one of the most manly ways of doing perfumery, perhaps that iris anon was right, this is all a plan to emasculate zoomers.
Bisch also made Bois Imperial and it's often compared to Ganymede so i don't know what to say, ozonic landmark to dry woody don't seem like brothers or even cousin accords. What a strange journey.

aids you stupid fucking rusnigger. hiv. the disease that your government denies and that ravages the population. not aid. the aid to ukraine kills the aids in russia by killing rusniggers. rusniggers are dying from a monkey-borne disease that can be suppressed in any civilized western country and allows for a normal lifespan unless you are in russia, where you just fucking spread it and then die. disease-laden shithole. i hope europe builds a wall. iron curtain 2.0 but it's against the iron in red blood cells so rusniggers don't spread their nigger disease in the civilized world.

Kouros, but this scent is reformulated and softer than it used to be, so make sure to spray between 8 and 15 times.

Fahrenheit+fit body is a total panty dropper, at least for me. Kouros is dated and unpleasant by today standards, I agree.
