Born the last year of the millennial gen, so by most (but not all) metrics not a zoomer. I love jeans but most denim firms make ugly looking low rise jeans for tacky nerds stuck in the 2013 /mfa/ era. I just want decent slim but not skinny high rise jeans not made in a sweatshop but not 300 dollars but I can't find any. I go through a pair of jeans pretty quick because I'm not a sedentary city dweller but the union made brands I followed stopped making high rise slim cut.

This is partially the reason. Jeans (especially dark selvage ones) were Hipster-fied and are part of the uniform, in slim-to-skinny fit, of every man in their Mid '30s in tech/beer/offices who dresses as if it is 2014. So the fatter and trendier zoom zooms go to Joggers instead.

It's kinda like how slacks got associated with old men.

All things being said, what jeans there are that are popular are the opposite. Mass produced, lighter washed, elastane'd to allow comfiness and FUPAs.

The cuffs are a little too big, but dark denim looks fine with darker shoes/boots. OP's photo in particular looks so heinous because the floor, cuffs and boots(?) all blend into one grey mush.

No they dont wear stiff selvedge denim or american eagle dark blue/navy blue jeans, but vintage light wash black and light blue that are straighter fit are pretty typical to see. The more fashion "conscious" will wear throwback 90's type loose fit light wash. Sperry wearing dickheads still rock relatively tight light blue jeans (their legs are tiny)

I wore a lot of raw denim in the early-mid 2010s. I remember one day I put on a normal pair of pants after wearing samurai 710s for like a year straight and they were so comfortable I just couldn’t do it anymore. Still have some railcars and iron hearts in my closet but I doubt I’ll ever touch them again. The 20’s are about comfort. That’s why sneakers and oversized hoodies and cargos are in.
