Tried wearing some jeans for a more rugged look to go with the jacket, not sure though, feels a little juvenile.

That depends on your local climate. Where i am its moderately cool for most of the year and doesnt typically get that hot in the summer. And I just like the more rugged and heavy feeling, and the shape of the collar that usually accompanies it.
Meh, i ordered the shirt anyways, because it was too difficult to find exactly that kind of pattern in Oxford.

Is there anything bad about these socks? 98-100% cotton, 2-ply, many colors, many (tasteful) patterns, reasonable price assuming the quality is as good as they claim. But being on Etsy and based in Turkey is a bit suspicious. The reviews are all positive but most people on these sites dont know what theyre talking about, and reviews are typically written when the item is received so they dont account for durability.

TIP is generally a black-phobic style outside of evening wear (with navy, charcoal, and burgundy the preferred darker colors), but it can sometimes be pulled off, wearing TIP staples but in black can add a chic continental vibe, while remaining within the bounds of good taste. Have seen this before, the company was probably mismanaged (ie the owner took the money for personal use) and now they need new orders to pay for the old ones. New orders ship immediately as normal, but old orders aren't fulfilled unless the customer is angry enough.

Just a guess, but I'd say it's 99% correct. Especially if the store changed names in the past year.

Brooks Brothers has reopened in Australia and I’m considering buying one of their OCBDs because it would be cheaper than buying from Kamakura or Drakes or whatever and I have some old Brooks Brothers shirts and I like them. I have a BB shirt from the last couple years. The no-iron poplin (?) fabric feels similar to a nylon rain jacket, probably because of the treatment it's given. I think that might point to bad quality in the other departments, but I own nothing else from Brooks nor have I touched anything more recent. Maybe just buy 1 less shirt overall and get a Kamakura or Mercer or Gitman Vintage shirt.

The BB site doesn’t indicate that the OCBD is non-iron but I also have one of their non-iron shirts and I know what you mean, however I do like that they don’t wrinkle anyway. I think BB was one of the first to do non iron clothes actually, but I might be mistaken.
>Maybe just buy 1 less shirt overall and get a Kamakura or Mercer or Gitman Vintage shirt.
I would but I feel like the American prices + shipping would rape my wallet, I only want a white shirt anyway.

>> No.17482456

>>17481329
If you want an OCBD with a chest pocket and no logo you will have a very hard time finding one, at least that has been my experience from BB in the states. The closest thing I was able to find was a OCBD with a very small BB logo in the place of a pocket. Something I would wear only around people who don't care, or with a sport coat / blazer. I will say the cotton they use is quite comfortable, but there was a lot of extra fabric in the shirt so I defiantly had to take it to a tailor. Overall not a bad choice for the price and if you know how to wear it, I would start with only one and defiantly try it on to be sure you like it before purchase.
