17457135 No.17457135 [Reply] [Original]

Non sperging and tarding /btg/

We discuss boots and outfits with boots here.

>> No.17457156

I goddamn love carminas and how they look but there's no fucking way any other outfit besides a suit looks that good with them, right?

>> No.17457169

Suppose you are talking about their dressy shoes options, a crisp pair of slacks is a good start, then working your way up top, you either can get a sport coat, or more casual options that look good with slacks like shacket, truckers, safari.
If the shoes are derby, can swap slacks out for chinos.

Is this just the nature of Chelsea boots, or should I return? Measured according to the site, but it's just a little off. Bit more room in the toe box than they say there should be, heel lifts higher than they say it should during break in.

>> No.17457221

Just a normal case of the last does not work for your feet.

i got these a month ago in a size 9.5 US.. i wear a size 10, they seem to fit well enough with just a bit of clearance at the ends which is entirely normal for shoes of course (~0.2 inches). but i keep getting heel slippage and it's driving me fucking insane, nothing bad when i'm wearing them but if i even begin to crease the shoes as i walk i begin to feel slippage. and as i've stated they fit everywhere else fine, as i did try heel tabs and it made the shoe too cramped, any help?

>> No.17457343

i should clarify that they're Solovair "Monkey Shoes". i used to be a fucking retard who wore Converse all the time so this is a slight step above for me at least.

>> No.17457501

Damn, are these boots just out of the question for me? No sizing down or anything?

>> No.17457537

Off the rack shoes can’t fit everyone.
People heel to ball ratio, heel size, ball width, etc differ.
Each makers employ different lasts. Someone can fit size 7 in one brand fine, but won’t in another brand’s 7.
If that last RMW uses don’t fit you well, see if they have anything else or move on the another brand.

For future purchase, learn your feet features, things like high or low instep, heel size, ball width, arch, heel to ball measurement, relay those infos to the brand, ask them to describe how their last fit to you.

Ultimately, this takes trials and errors, you just have to get the shoes on your feet to know for sure. It helps to work with retailers who can offer return/ exchange.

>> No.17457542

w2c boots in OP?

>> No.17457547

What is happening here might be that the last heel to ball ratio is farther than your feet’s, so your feet widest part is actively sliding up that point, making slippage happens.

Either buy one of those glue on heel piece in smaller size or get a cobbler to stitch a piece of leather to the heel to bulk it up. The heel tabs you use is too thick, thats why it feels cramped.

>> No.17457549

The brand is Edward Green. You can buy them directly from EG or their various retailers. Though EG is expensive (+1K) so it would be better to state your budget.

Which size boot should I get? I traced my feet, and they're about 27cm long and about 11cm wide at their widest. I did it barefoot, should I redo with socks?

From what I see, those measurements should put me at a size 10 wide. I'm not sure if a size 10, size 10.5, or size 11 would fit me best though (assuming the boots are true to size).

that's actually a good change. Why would people want their work-boot lite to not have a wider toebox? Narrow toeboxes are great for dress shoes, not work boots.
