Don't worry, buying a fragrance for someone else is safe and nothing can go wrong. It's the same as blind-buying for yourself. You spend money, the fragrance arrives, you hate it, the money is wasted. It would have been better to have been able to know that beforehand, wouldn't it? Just buy what you feel like is right, and don't choose Bleu de Chanel Parfum, which would be "woody" and "probably liked by your friend" when you can choose Wonderwood instead, which is "woody" and "unique because by the time people leave the house the smell is already gone so you will never smell anybody else wearing it".

Will report back when I get them. I paid 65 euros in total, for 2-3ml sprays.

a bit light and airy, masculine.
the juniper stands out. theres some spicy nuttiness that comes and goes. the woods and citrus is fresh and clean, not dank or sour.

Here in the north of Spain those are quite hard to test unless I drive to a specific city nearby, and I would pay more for the gas and highway toll than what I paid for the samples.

Also, for these niche fragances I prefer to have a sample and be able to test them for a few days in different conditions, way more convenient and realistic and to be honest, way more fun.

Not to mention that for something like interlude, a 2ml tester can last me for months.

Because if I do it, it will brutally radiate throughout the gym, as I don't wear weak diluted cheapies. Then others will think it's okay to wear a fragrance to the gym and start wearing their weak diluted cheapies to the gym. If enough people do it, it will smell like cheapies in my gym. The lone to me is all weak (good call calling it light blue) useless scents for normies, the only exceptions being LB forever and italian love. They are not sweet at all, realistic sour grapefruit, VERY natural smelling. Can be found in stores, worth a tester if you don't find them.

I decided I want a cheap unisex oud + rose fragrance because I like both notes although I never smelled them together, to wear on dates with my gf and during sex (I need to save Fahrenheit or I will run out).

yep, lots of green woody scents out there. the most forest-like I've had was probably Kaszebsczi Mech by that one Polish niche perfumer, but I think it sold out. that had a very "forest floor" feel with all the moss
other than that, most Vetiver based scents are green, woody and earthy to some degree. Grey Vetiver, Terre d'Hermes and especially Guerlain Vetiver. Encre Noire is a pretty good cheaper pick as well
there are also some fragrances with coniferous notes if you prefer pine forests

Someone who grew up with fond impressions of cars and saddlery would be a lot more receptive to leather frags. Your mom has good taste, that's a very solid frag and perfect for a signature.Honestly having a signature scent is the smartest thing you can do. People begin to associate you with your smell and it builds a strong connection in their mind. Perfumery is kind of a shit hobby because it's expensive, but the biggest kicker is that you become nose blind to your scent after awhile. So you keep buying more and more and more then you end up with 50 frags that you could never finish in your lifetime, and there's always a new and exciting frag on the horizon to consume. So that being said if you want to get into the game definitely buy samples and if you REALLY love something buy a bottle. Maybe someone else will chime in for the best place to buy samples, I usually buy from ebay.

As far as the vanilla I just recently got pic related and it's absolutely insane how good it smells to me. People say it's the best PDM Layton clone. I can understand the hype I absolutely love it.

people do talk about the original and the Parfum a lot
the original EDT was extremely influential and a big hit back in the 1960s
the Parfum is not very similar to my nose, it's got more of a "dusty lemon candy and vetiver" vibe
for some reason no one ever talks about the Extreme even though it's pretty nice if you want something more herbal with prominent lavender
