Some of you fags need a reality check, you've gone too far down the rabbit hole. You autistically obsess over fragrances and label them as being either good or shit (no middle ground), as being for summer or winter, for this occasion or that occasion, etc. The fact is 99% of fragrances smell nice and for the most part it doesn't matter what you spray on yourself. If you're attractive then smelling good is just the cherry on top (pretty much any fragrance will do). If you're some ugly loser it doesn't matter if you're wearing a ridiculously expensive niche fragrance or a mass-pleasing compliment-getter, ultimately you're still an ugly loser.

Kenzo Homme EDP is really growing on me, I think it may be the meta "blue" scent. That fresh showergel patchouli is really giving me nostalgia for the early-mid 200s in middle school wearing Axe and shit. This stuff does everything Dylan Blue does but 10000x better and without any ambroxan, lasts longer and actually evolves throughout the day to boot. My fragrance journey

Eau Sauvage: Bought in person inbetween one of our many oppresive lockdowns in Canada. Nice scent but lacking in projection and longevity. Probably good for working in an office.

Zoologist 10ml travel sprays: Blind bought a 5 pack during the second lockdown when I could not shop in person. Got Camel and Hummingbird to give for my parents for Christmas and got Moth, Rhino and Camel for myself. Moth is the most transitory fragrance I ever smelt. I think I am allergic to it tho. Camel is a great loud fragrance. I got Rhino cause I was interested in tobacco and booze but it doesn't smell like it at all. It came with a sample of Squid and I liked it so much I bought a travel spray. Very mysterious salty marine type scent without smelling like a teenager from the mid 2000s.

Dreamer (the new one): Smelt in person after second lockdown. Weird opening but I love the iris with white floral. I don't smell tobacco with the new version but the amber behind the floral is cool.

Une Amourette by ELDO: I asked for the ELDO sample set for Christmas and I picked this one to purchase. I was looking for an incense one but skipped Marquis de Sade and Rien and got this one. It's not incense but it has like, the vibe of incense. Like it in Dec, Jan, Feb when it's dark out. (Cont.)

Added Lalique pour Homme to the order for 20 bucks. This one makes me realize fougere is one of my favourite scents. I like it because it smells great on clothes, which is great living somewhere where your skin is completely covered most of the year.

Sung pour Homme: Blind bought for twenty dollars at Shoppers Drug Mart. Smells soapy. I like it. Will wear in Summer

This arrived in the mail since last thread and it's so good. I am looking forward to seeing what sort of reactions it yields when I wear it in public. I was nervous because of how divisive it is but wow it's just incredible. Only one little spray and it stays forever... But I already want to get myself another bottle.

Don't be a poorfag, in europe there are plenty of opportunities to get rich.
Maybe try to wear better fragrances CDNIM is a trashy, chemical smelling Aventus dupe. Just buy Aventus or get Loewe Esencia EDP.

Fellow europoor here, i would stray away from aventus clones just because they are everywhere and don't exactly make you smell "preppy" or rich. Creed is a more modern fragrance and i would go for a classic fragrance like Dior Eau Sauvage or a more modern fragrance like Terre D'Hermes. Both are designer but they are not super expensive.

If your options are Grand Soir, Interlude Man and ACDD, you should most definitely get GS or ACDD - Interlude is not that versatile. The problem is that GS nor ACDD are very wearable in higher temperatures; thus, I would get a bottle of GS and something lighter for summer. LADDM is very close to ACDD, just get one of the two.

The EdP and the Intense are the best, but still pretty tame gourmand fragrances. Some smooth and powdery creamy almond/cherry notes are present in all of them. The Extreme has a somewhat disgusting plum note in it, which is kinda loud compared to the rest of the line, but the drydown is still nice. My main problem is that they all sit skin-close. They might last, but you won't project.

Guys please for fuck's sake stop wearing gourmands.

The whole genre stems from A*men, which is a rebranded womans fragrance. Even ourguy Luca Turin said that it would smell good on a woman but would be ridiculous on a man. And Amen worked just because the strong sweetnes was balanced with stinky patchouli. Modern gourmands, are not balanced, they are just various degrees of sterile sweetness and nothing else. It all smells like pudding, cookies, sweet alcohol and other stuff for kids and women. Fucking Polo Green has more youth to it than Oajan. My colleague wore it (either that or Killians Share), he's a young guy, and the impression that he makes wearing it is "I have a feminine hobby and spend significant amount of money trying to be posh". I don't know what convinced everybody that the smell of humans personal space is less attractive than a fucking cinabun and overweetened latte, but that's ridiculous. I'm assuming most of you are going for a traditionally masculine style, so wear something that reflects it. Most modern chypres and fougeres have some musk to them, it doesn't have to be Furyo

>but girls like it

no, they don't know what they like, so what they say they like is the stuff that indicates the guy takes care of himself. If some of you retards didn't discover yet, doing what a woman says you should do is the path to becoming a woman yourself. Wanting compliments is pathetic and uncharismatic, and in no way is an indicator of how good of an impression a fragrance makes.

The latter is more like a screechy mess, smells like low quality and doesnt resemble a lot aventus. Its more like a screechy citrusy leather. Its still a good perfume in a universal basis, but nowere near aventus. Btw after my experience kf the rabbit hole, avoid niche. Avoid internet sales. Avoid the less known. Stick to the known brands (dior ect.) and even on those dont try to search for the deal, or for an ancient frgrance, stick to the most recent and a la mode fragrances. You WILL fall in love with fragrances
You WILL buy a sample set of niche fragrances (imaginary authors)
You WILL fall in love with 2 of this ones
You WILL procede to buy hundreds worths of samples in a journey to find the ultimate fragrances with those notes that you love
You WILL try designer, niche, and chrap arabs (al rehab)
And you WILL realize that the best quaility per price ratio are al Rehab but that they are not a viable solution because, wail they succeds to the perfume mission to make you smell nice and receive compliments, the ultimate low quality will bore you.
You WILL realize that oh fuck, the best overall products are those made by famous mass appealing houses (Dior...) like evrything else in life, but that ultimately even then they dont scrach your soul an itch, because you realize that ultimatly, nature is king and artificial perfumes are just a big fat profit scam (IFRA)

Because the heritage brands are top dogs, and every one else are financially, artistically, orginially and producionally under them. Its all like a pyramid. EncreNoire for exemple was made by a second class perfurmer, if you liked that, you will like more the original vetiver fragrances made by the top dogs (guerlain vetiver, tom ford..). The problem here js that the industry is just for profit, and that the new fragrances are worse then the ancient ones. Kouros and Creed are not niche. Who made Kouros, Pierre Bourbon, worked closely with Creed
>but most modern frags are generic boring sweetness that doesn't bring any excitement
Thats true but at least designers are doing it in a top dog manner, btw the ultimate frags are those made by artisanal perfumes and inceses (read ensar oud, arej le dore, sultan pasha)

Yes techinally are niche. But i use the term niche for referring to the under dog indioendent houses that uses the same production materials like the too ones (Givaudan...)

My first experience with vetiver was an Imaginary Authors sample, Every Storm a Serenade, witch was an instant love, vetiver + ambergris + acquatic notes = pirates of carebbean vibes but with time eventually it bored me and my nose would only recognize a simple vetiver aroma

Opium is a traditional Fougere with oriental notes added. You will find nothing like the vintage opium, these type of fragrances are simple no more on production.

The base ingredient for making a fougere is oakmoss, witch is a high quality moss that grows only on high quality wood (oak). Its a scarce ingredient witch europe just doesnt have anymore. Theyare coping with treemoss or other artificial comppunds but the difference in quality is enourmous

Try to DIY yourself Opium

Or try to get a fougere frag made by artisanal perfumers like Sultan Pasha or Bortnikoff

>>17439064
Used to be fucking great, then got the L'Oreal treatment. Test it at a store, it might still be for you. It's just a spicy cinnamon crowdpleaser. Also don't mix it, what the hell. 1 Million is a good alternative suggestion, but also check out Chanel's Egoiste. That one is VERY different to mainstream cinnamon frags, though. Last but not least, Eau de Baux.

>>17439247
Eau de Baux. It's the one fragrance that isn't a secret but somehow a secret. People looking for a frag will walk past the L'Occitane section in the department store, past the L'Occitane store, and then buy Boss Bottled at a perfumery. They could have ended their journey earlier. It has gotten a lot of reviews over the years, but that's because it has been out since 2006. It's popular only within the frag com, but smells good to everybody. If they would spend as much money on marketing as big designer brands, that stuff would be in every household. Now it's destined to only be in the collection of smelly water nerds.

Ensar Oud is the guy with most real musk, apparently sultan Qaboos of Oman gifted him his library of musks. He also have sandalwood, oud, civet, ambergris in his catalogue. Price tag is high but worth it. And thats the price of real natural materials

Real musk comes from hunting of a rare cervus species in the mountains of siveria and mongolia, everything else is artificial garbage. Musk also was the favourite perfume of prophet muhammad pbuh and said something like paradise will have a smell like musk.

Bortnikoff is more european like and craft more traditional perfumes like Musk Cologne, are easier in the price tag but still using the raw materials

No, just don't. If you want a good allrounder for hot and humid climate go for wood, citrus, clean musk, florals.

None of them are particularly great for hot and humid, especially not in a professional setting.
Le Male could work but I don't know Florida weather and wouldn't risk it.

That's already known, which is why real oakmoss has to be listed on the ingredient list (which mostly lists known allergens). There are many fragrances which still use it. Dakar has real oakmoss (Drakkar Noir has real treemoss), Sauvage Elixir, Bleu de Chanel and Pour Monsieur also have real oakmoss.
It doesn't guarantee any quality, though. New York Intense does not have real oakmoss, despite having it listed as a major note, but mogs many fragrances which have it.

You can wear whatever you want, whenever you want. Just be aware of how strong some scents can be in the heat/humidity. Hold back on sprays with the real sweet heavy stuff. Also avoid the ones that will fill a room with a single spray and leave a lasting trail wherever you go.

I'm near the Gulf in FL and use TF Oud Wood and D&G The One year round without issue.
They're both sweet, spicy, 'warm'. But they also stay close to you, so you dont punch everyone in the nose and throat with the smell.

Your best bet is to just go to Macys, Dillards, all those places and try a bunch. Again, just remember that the sweet and heavy stuff is going to seem even more intense outside in the heat/humidity.

I got bought wonderwood as a gift. Not really too keen on it. I much prefer Hinoki or Yoyogi for woody, green scents.

Avignon is in the thin black bottle. It’s quite strong stuff, but a nostalgic and favourite scent of mine. I’ve also tried Kyoto from the same line which is pretty nice, very heavy Asian incense smell.

I don't have words to describe how sad you are to sit here all day and post the same stupid shit over and over. We get it, you lost your virginity to some moped and you happened to be wearing mediocre perfume at the time.

Is there a list of companies that don't follow the IFRA guidelines? I'm looking for fragrances that I won't go nose-blind to or that will simply disappear in 2-4 hours. I have a few fragrances like this such as sauvage elixir, tom ford tobacco vanille, tuscan leather, original formula PDM layton, original formula GIT, and prada amber pour home from back in the day. I just bought tuxedo because I love it but I feel a little burned because it's fleeting. I sprayed it on a t-shirt I wasn't wearing and about an hour later I took a shower and flushed my sinuses to refresh and while I could detect it better it was weak sauce..

There is no such list because they dont exist. There is no house that doesnt follow IFRA. All frag houses uses the same output of materials, Givaudan, wich produces also aromas for the food industry. The difference is in quality and the top ones are the most famouse brands.

You want to go full artisanal one man indipendent producers that uses real scarce naturals. For having real musk you literally need to hunt them in asia and people who have those ingredients are few and known

Also jump in the other thread were we mog down people who wears encre noire

>Is it just a Ganymede clone
Ganymede is really good.
Ganymede = Akigalawood + fruits.

Kenzo Homme (Intense EDT and EDP 2022) are good.
Kenzo Homme = Akigalawood + aquatics/blue.

Bois Imperial is fucking garbage.
Bois Imperial = Tom Ford Grey Vetiver + Akigalawood.
