why do my secondhand dress shoes and beaters hurt my feet? the former are my size but a bit worn out so they have excess room in the toe box, which i've temporarily fixed by placing an extra pair of insoles in them. the latter, despite being a size too small, do fit bc they've been worn out, but maybe bc they weren't meant to support such big feet they fail to do so? or is it bc the soles are made out of wood and dress shoes, beaters, etc are uncomfortable by default and just bad for ur feet?

considering throwing them in one of those textile bins so some eastern europoor can hopefully get some joy out of them. but since i'm nearing the end of young adulthood as a man, dress shoes are ofc a must-have in my wardrobe. so if there are any comfy dress shoes/beaters that offer good support for my feets, feel free to rec me some.

i was looking at two t-shirts of mine. one is super comfortable and says its made from pima cotton , the other is okay but not as comfortable and says its made from "supima" cotton

was looking into it and apparently "supima" is just a USA grown version of the pima cotton, which comes from peru. my pima t-shirt was also made in peru. and i get the impression supima is like the branded version of pima that a lot of american corps use

is there a consensus on pima vs supima cotton on this board? because my pima shirt mogs the supima one

muay thai
capoeira
judo
taekwondo
sanda (prob unavailable in ur area, but look for a nearby gym where they offer classes in it anyway)
fencing
boxing

any functional martial art/combat sport practiced at a high level looks good if u understand it, which u will if u practice one or more for long enough.

anyways, as someone w/ about 6 years in total of training in martial arts, i can tell u that practicing one for the sake of form is dumb. u'll find urself learning an art w/ fancy moves, prob at a tma school (which will most likely be shit and produce wimps who can't fight their way out of a wet paper bag), possibly for years, and still not be equipped w/ the necessary skills to defend urself physically (speaking from experience).

u may never have to use those skills in a real life altercation, but on the off chance u do, u're fucked. this is why any martial artist worth their weight in salt will tell u that function is the most important thing to select for in practicing a given martial art, and that means training at a gym that produces capable fighters. and from there, once u've had enough years of training under ur belt, form should follow function and u'll get good enough at ur particular skillset that u make it look effay, as w/ any other skill.

pic rel is a flowchart to get u started on ur journey.

All I want to wear are suits. I'm broke (plan to be rich someday, but who doesn't), so all I have is leisurewear and gymwear. This isn't the worst right now, because I'm also overweight (6'6, 295lbs) so tight, revealing clothing wouldn't look good on me anyway.
All I want to wear are suits, anyway. I've always thought guys look so fucking good in suits, I watched every episode of Man Men even though I hated it, I just love the look.
Two problems: I'm broke, and this is the look of a rich man, and secondly, I have a very unusual body type. I understand a great way to pick up your first few suits is secondhand, unfortunately that's not an option for me. I could probably spend months looking for cheap suits that fit when I would probably be better off spending that time on a literal min wage job and just buying quality. Don't even get me started on shoes. I'm a size 14 and I somehow think my feet are still growing at 35 because my shoes feel too small sometimes.
Any advice? I want to get a black suit, then work my way into navy, tan, brown, all the staples. I figure with some nice dress shirts I can have a few looks with even just a single suit or two. Should I even try those outlet/warehouse places? I feel like they would either have NOTHING in my size, or maybe they would, because once they get something like that nobody else will ever buy it. What is the minimum I can expect to spend?
Mens Wearhouse will make a custom suit "starting at $400", probably more for Mr. big and tall over here. Should I just save up and blow 800 with tax on a single suit? It would fit perfectly I guess. But then there's even the problem where I want to lose a lot of weight, so I almost feel like I shouldn't do shit for a year or two at the least.

Since it's the normalfag and cheap option it wont be the pinnacle but it does exactly what you need and I have sensitive skin and it's never really fucked with me. Also, get razor samples. Try a bunch of em out and see which you like the most because there's a science to it.

Do these pants fit? They're supposed to be baggy. They reach my shoes but they somehow feel wrong.

Also fuck 4chan for banning me for 3 days for posting work in progress pics of my orgy management game on /v/ even though it didn't have any genitals or nipples and even though /v/ is full of lewd loli images.

But anyway, the pants, are they too short?

I'm trying to figure out something shoes related. What is it with the color of shoes for matching with the color of the resto of the clothes? Let's say I have a grey sweater, black jacket, blue denims. My instinct says grey, brown or black shoes should be fine, but when I see fa pics - and I mean lots of pics - they want white sneakers? Is there a contrast code I am not aware of?

Can someone give me a general take on Primark? I don’t know what it is, never been to one of their stores, but came across some drawstring joggers by “Denim Co” (which is from primark afaik) in a thrift store and they seem pretty nice but the stuff on the primark site is so cheap I’m baffled why these pants seem so nice. Do they make decent clothing or not?

I’d say really any basic color would be fine so long as it’s not too similar to the color of the pants. Matching with the rest of the outfit isn’t as important as contrasting a bit with the pants. And the shape/size is probably more important than the color

I don't get it. Okay I get that shoes should contrast with the pants colorwise (thanks btw), but shape and size? Between denims and cargos and tacticals, what shoes contrasts with them?

Depends on your threshold for "decent". Their clothes are actually reasonabily good if you consider the insanely low prices. They also have a lot of variety so you might find some stuff you like. I'd say the overall quality is slightly better than your average mall-tier entry level brand while being considerably cheaper.

I’m not saying the left ones are awful, just that the right ones are def better. I thought you were choosing between the two. Why did you ask otherwise?

>>17448466
I mean more like are the pants slim fit or straight cut or baggy. That’s a big part of how I choose what shoes to wear with pants. Some of my shoes are on the smaller side (like a pair of converse, which have a small profile) so I won’t wear them with my straight cut jeans cause it looks off balance, makes my feet look small. So with those jeans I might wear a bulkier sneaker like the sperry cvo or a moc toe (pic related). If I have another sneaker that is a bit bulkier than a converse style sneak but still not so big that it seems to hold its own against the break of the pant leg (eg a pair of new balance) I might cuff the pant once. That would be enough to just gently taper and narrow the pant at the point it contacts the shoe. Hope this isn’t too confusing but it’s all to say that sizing and shape and fit (and balancing these between each item) is often more important than color when it comes to constructing an outfit

>>17448489
Yeah, I suppose even American eagle and H&M puts out decent articles of clothing occasionally. I’m just always taken aback when these low priced brands make something nice. Arizona Jeans Co and Goodfellow are other ones that surprised me recently re their fit and quality despite their low msrp.

Ah, I think I get it, broadly at least. Smaller shoes should only be used with narrow pants, somewhat bigger shoes goes with anything? Plus the color contrasts.

Shoes with a larger profile I wouldn’t generally wear with slim or tapered pants because it would look kind of goofy, like wearing shoes that are too big for you.

And obviously a lot of people here might fuck with these proportions for a particular look (eg doc martens with skinny jeans), but I’m not interested in those sort of styles. I like to keep things in proportion.

And I’ll stress again that you have some wiggle room with straight cut pants because you can cuff them. When the pant leg comes in contact with the shoe that’s what we call the “break”. If you have a full break on a small shoe the fabric can dwarf the shoe and look silly.

So, boat shoes are a good example of this. They have a small profile so they’re good with shorts, but you’ll notice if guys wear them with pants they’ll cuff them or the inseam will be short enough (“high waters”) where there is no break.

Can someone recommend me some relaxed/straight fit pants that are comfy and premium but with a casual look? Not jeans, something more akin to a chino

Not ones that are stiff at all or look like they should be worn with an oxford shirt and a sweater, I want casual premium, high quality comfort, probably mostly cotton. Willing to spend up to $200.

Also none of that stretchy athletic fake dress pants shit.

I wear Levi's standard chino XX taper fit right now, and they are a decent example of what I'm looking for, but I want straight/relaxed fit that can fit over high top shoes and Im also willing to spend more money for higher quality.

The only thing I have found so far that kind of fits is Gramicci pants but they have a built-in belt I'm not sure about and I'm not sure how nice they really are, they are $90 normally so maybe okay but not too sure

If you're not attached to the full chino thing, check out five pocket pants. They're sort of a mid point between a chino and jeans. Inherently a more casual style
