How do I deal with x stain?

Does anyone here have any experience with White's Hillyards or work involving lots of fast paced walking? I'm interested in picking up a work boot for bartending/barbacking work but I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for.
I'm drawn to the flexibility and minimal break in on these ones, they're not dressy but the black ones look like they'd blend in well with my work environment. My coworker was wearing Docs so I figured something similarly light would do the trick. I guess this boot isn't popular at all, there aren't even any reviews on YouTube. Any other recs?

Former bartender here. The hillyard doesn't say where the sole is from or what properties it has. How slip-proof is it? We don't know.

Otherwise, we already know the mini Vibram on a lot of their other boots is oil resisting and generally non-slip. I would prefer this sole.

That said, you almost certainly do not need to worry about oil behind the bar. Only way I can think that'd happen is if someone breaks a jar of olives. Beyond that, everywhere I worked, the tiles were grippy enough and I was wearing fryes. Only trouble I had was this one place with granite floors where wet soles would fuck you up.

As far as comfort goes, there's probably rubber mats you're working on, so any sole works, but I hate the mats and would solo bar without them.

I think I like the Wolverine 1000 mile boots better than IRs. IR's look like the epitome of clown shoe compared next to them when they're on your foot.

IR's are probably more durable but you can't use them outside of hard work. The 1000 mile boots stayed on my feet all day, into an office and out on the streets, and at work on a ranch. Got compliments all day, they look like expensive dress boots.

Well I live in Europe and over here Carmina and TLB are both great at the 450€ mark.
Made in their own factories, using leathers from known Western tanneries, high quality construction, decent finishing.

Obviously they do not have anything that looks like an American boot in terms of styling.

Grant Stone gets under the $400 mark by taking the "Made in China" shortcut but I have only heard good things about them, check them out maybe.

I am probably going to order all of these from Enzo Bonafe, I am very happy with my boots from them and they have so many options I do not see any reason to change. MTOs take like 3-4 months so that should cover the whole year more or less.

Secondary:
4) Two suede summer loafers. I have my eyes on the TLB loafers, they have a bunch with white sneaker soles (probably blake stitch). I need to make sure they use the same high quality CF Stead suede that they use on their normal shoes though.
5) A proper high quality all-white sneaker to replace my failing Adidas. I know Goral makes one with no shortcuts, but I refuse to order from UK shops and pay customs. Customs are just plain theft.

The founder was a professional shoefitter however, so the lasts are genuinely decent.
I don't know about QC, I don't know about the craftsmanship, and I especially do not know about customer service.
However, they are using good leathers in addition to the good last.

I would not trust them to make a work boot, but if you can't afford Alden prices, Meermin will be your best bet for a super comfy unstructured suede chukka. If that's your thing.

Polo/snuff suede penny loafer
Dark brown boot - either pebble grain or roughout - to replace an aging set of Wolverines. Leaning towards pebble grain as otherwise there's a bit too much suede/texture but they might also be a bit dressy as they'd be what I would wear in the winter in the rain with jeans and corduroy. Should be ok with a less dressy last though.

Already have suitable dress shoes, so just need something more casual given I don't work anywhere formal enough now.

I asked Carmina for a triple sole but I think they made a double sole. But then again I remember reading on SF that the triple sole is "3 layers x 1.5 mm, a 4.5 mm" and this does have a sole layer that's 4.5 mm. So maybe I was just expecting too much sole thickness

Skoak is running a GMTO for an Enzo Bonafe dark brown suede Chukka until the end of January.

Full price is 530€ + vat
Not bad for one of the best shoemakers around.

The last is 74945 which is one of the greatest shoe lasts ever created. It's a combination between a round and a chisel last.
However it only comes in normal width, so I have never ordered or tried it.
As usual with Bonafe, the instep is high.

I think the suede both makes them more casual (and versatile) and makes the last look less angular and formal.
You could easily wear these in the office or going out with friends for dinner. I'd probably get more use out of these than my brown CXL Vibergs (which I do not wear to the office) for example.

But the last doesn't work for my duck feet. And I already have too many boots.
I am thinking of getting a PTB on a round last and that same dark brown suede color though.

I guess my point was that I would struggle to replace say a brown captoe oxford with a boot - maybe a balmoral in a pinch. I am quite conservative and don't want to stand out as much, I appreciate elsewhere and other people may feel differently.

Problem is, I have two pairs of oxfords, a black captoe and a dark brown quarter brogue adelaide, and I hardly wear them anymore.
I wore them maybe 5 times (total) during 2022, for a couple of weddings and a few times we had clients visiting the office.

I love shining them and wearing them, but when half the office is wearing sneakers it looks weird.
It was different pre-covid, we used to have clients in the office at least once a week. Now no one cares about covid, but no one visits either.

Skoak runs 3 different GMTOs for Bonafe every month, I check their site then.
It's rare to find something I really like in its entirety though.

Bonafe prices are not absurd, they run about a couple hundred more than Carmina MTOs which I think is reasonable.
They just don't have RTW so you have to pay the MTO fee every time.

Only thing to be mindful of are their welts. 270 welts look great, amazing fudging and they stand out a little bit not too much. If you ask for storm welt or norvegese, god help you.
