posted on previous thread, will post again one last time.
Third worlder here, found this cheap Seiko (one on the left), guy has no info, no model, no box. Converting it'd be about 20 US bucks.
Googled "17 jewels" which is written on its dial and found the model 4206. Some looked pretty similar and found one that looks exactly the same (on the right).
Was worried it was fake because there is no Seiko logo on the dial but googling it I found the logo can fall off, and that the logo is attached to the two dots on the dial which the one I found has.
Completely ignorant when it comes to watches, don't want to spend a lot of money on a new/semi orient/seiko but also don't want a tacky knock off.
Might say fuck it and buy this one, either to wear it as is or maybe in the near future try to replace the seiko dial logo.

According to the whole watch industry. Rolexes have been praised for their reliability by pretty much every watchmaker (Philippe Dufour or Roger Smith for example). Their after-sale service is also unmatched.
IF your Rolex has a problem, you can just walk into your AD, and there will be someone there to fix it (unlike other watch brands that will send your watch to Switzerland).

The ability for LOCAL service is one of the only things that makes Rolex truly better than other brands. When I took my Submariner in for service, it was done in two weeks and everything was done locally at my AD. When I broke my Omega playing golf (fuck you Sergio Garcia for advertising an Aqua Terra as watch you can play golf wearing), I took it for service at the same AD because they supposedly service Omega. Turns out, they have no parts for any Co-Axial movement and to Switzerland it went.

You just need to get in touch with the right department of the right CC company. You aren't a high enough flyer for an amex black card but there are other cards with similar terms that you can get involved in. If you want to upgrad one of your current cards to a high credit limit card they usually look at your last couple years of spending on the card, with certain minimums required to bump up.

Poorfag here. Just got this Seiko 5 from my grandfather (and in fact my first ever Seiko and Automatic watch). But the strap on it is really small, won't even shut close on my arm, and it's already set at the limit. I love Tags and I want a white one but for some reason I can't quite articulate, I don't like the ones with those thick "spokes" (whatever they're called) on the bezel. You could do a lot worse, but you might also find a nicer Aquaracer for cheap if you look hard enough. Carreras are nice too but I don't ever see them with good deals

Pawn shop near where I live has an AP Cobra on sale for just under 400,000 yen (about $3k USD). Have no clue about the condition, paperwork, etc., I literally saw the ad for it on a flyer that a dude handed me when I was walking in the grocery store next door.

It's a decent bit of money for me but I can definitely cover it. I don't know if I want to resell it, I think it would be cool to just say I own an AP and maybe wear it when I go out. It's not really "my" style but it looks pretty eyecatching and it might get me laid, who knows.

I don't get the hate for Grand Seiko.
Sure some of their designs are ugly but their most simple watches are pretty good (picrel). They also managed to develop their own tech and a unique design language (textured dials and shit). And from what I can tell their marketing is alright and very straightforward ("this watch was inspired by some river, it's nice buy it"). No pozzed shit or cringe brand ambassadors.

I mean, I would rather wear pic related than any gay ass Omega.

The AT is a bit boring, I have the blue dial one, really clean, sterile almost if it wasn’t for the logo and the date window. It’s nice, not an eye catcher, neutral but keeps time perfectly, +/-5 in the first days of wearing it and then it stays at a steady 0 just like the black bay 58
