previously owned picrel (not my photo). got it in the skintight ramones fit so it was useless in any weather. literally gave it away. 1300cad jacket just gave it away. boy i'm smart sometimes. now have a similar one but a looser fit i can have a sweater under.
also have my dad's old school bomber jacket. 90s so it's very relaxed fit. works great for late night slurpee runs.

found this from a thrift store for 30. Usually wouldn't pay that much for so used stuff but it fitted perfectly and the girl I was there with was hyped about it when I tried it on. It's harley davidson branded, made in USA.

Snagged this vintage buffalo leather jacket. Seam on the underarm lining is bust but I'll ask my tailor if he can fix it or if replacing it entirely is a better idea. I'll also have it professionally cleaned.

Once all of that is done, I just need to apply some sort of conditioner once a month right?
I use Saphir wax polish for my boots, guess I can just go with their lotion for my jacket too?

Men, I need some advice. How do I shrink my jacket some? This is a 20+ something year old leather, supposedly from Argentina, used to be my father's until I took it out of the closet and serviced it back to life. It had been accidentally thrown in the laundry, extremely dried and left to preserve in a dark closet for many many years. It's older than me. Just wiped it down with a damp cloth and applied mink oil over a period of three days. Now it seems to have stretched out pretty big. I am wagering that covering it in a towel and pouring hot water on it, let it steep in a tub for a few minutes then dry and let hang, will solve some of that extreme bagging. /out/ here. Recieved an old leather jacket (80s, 90s). It's fine but it has this old man smell on it. Any idea how to freshen it up a bit so I don't smell like a grandpa when wearing it?

Has anyone ever ripped the liner out of a jacket and replaced it? I got an otherwise great jacket but it's liner is monstrously uncomfortable and makes it almost an entire size smaller when worn with how much room it takes up.

My plan is to buy a silk shirt and cannibalize it for a replacement but I know nothing about this kind of shit

Pic rel is the jacket

It's pretty easy to do using a pre-made shirt but with that style of jacket the tricky part will be ensuring any new stitching doesn't show through. You might need to keep some of the original lining to help scaffold the new one in.

My current DIY with my leather blazer is to do a big textural embroidery piece on the back with either 'Saturn devouring his child' or 'Witches sabbath' as the centrepiece

Cop or not?
Belstaff

Also only size I can get is small it seems. My fitted shirt size is like XS but I was hoping to get a medium. Thoughts?

Took my measurements and they suggest a small will fit quite well enough though.

>> No.17385088

>>17384935
Tbh I'm not impressed with Belstaff's quality in relation to price and they always have these little details that make them more tacky than they need to be, but I guess that's what makes the reconigzable Belstaff look.

The cuts are good, though, so if you like the style or the brand, go for it. Assuming you picked the correct size, odds are it'll fit you pretty well.

So to understand, you mean leave like 1-2 inches of the original material around the edges to stitch the new liner on to so I am not trying to sew directly into the leather?

Does this look good?

Lambskin, it's quite cheap and fits me perfectly

>> No.17385383

>>17385339
Personally I wouldn't go with lambskin because it is not particularly durable. If it's cheap I guess that works but the entire point of wearing leather is having a marginal degree of protection from bites, rocks and improvised weaponry in a socially acceptable way. A lambskin jacket is going to rip the second something sharp even looks in your direction.

>> No.17385430

>>17385339
It looks fine, but obviously cheap. Aside from what mad max here said >>17385383
lambskin leather is fine for a cheap jacket that you aren't going to wear very often. It wears out quickly, and gets a saggy awkward look because the cheap stuff stretches very unevenly. I wouldn't spend my money on lambskin ever because I prefer stiffer heavier jackets. But for something cheap and lightweight that you aren't expecting to get as much use out of, it's probably fine.

>> No.17385893

>>17385323
Yes, because you can always cut it off if you don't need it and you don't know what you're working with until you start removing the lining. It's also useful with the amount of pining you have to do to ensure the silk lining won't move when stitching. Gotta know where the 'bones' of a garment is

If in Europe, Schott sells decent jackets like picrel at similar prices or cheaper than Belstaff.

A leather jacket in the configuration you want (collar, low on details) should be fairly easy to find at most retailers. It depends mostly on your budget and how much do you care for quality.

But anyway, I didn't say Belstaff is bad, just somewhat overrated with regards to price. If you really like that jacket and are OK with the price, by all means go for it.

The creasing means that the jacket has been worn a lot. It's hard to tell just from the pic but I have a similar jacket with a similar level of leather quality and has held up pretty well for many years. Overall jacket looks like it still has years of servicability ahead of it, but I'd ask for pics of the linning, since a jacket that has been worn that much is bound to have scruffs and maybe tears inside. How much are they asking for it?

You need a pair for that outfit. People here call you a fag, but you need balls to wear this outfit. In contrast to the countless pretentious garbage fits here, yours in combination with your hair and your looks suits you. It doesn't look forced, it's not using some gay oversized pullovers or ugly shoes with thick soles. WAYWT is a joke. I go there for laughs. Your outfit is certainly not normal, but it's fitting, except for the shoes.
