What do you think when you see a guy wearing a submariner

>> No.17337198

saw a guy looking at yogurt at the grocery store wearing a gmt
thought he was a cunt

>> No.17337201

I usually have a negative opinion of Rolex wearers….which is funny because I wear one

The beaner cook at work wears a gaudy Rolex. That says everything.

>> No.17337577

I think anyone that wears those kind of watches is incredibly boring

>> No.17337582

>>17337201
Rolex wearers want to show off their status, that they are powerful and financially attractive, so it's normal that to see other Rolex wearers as competitors (in the douchebag department).

Last time i saw a cashier (guy) wearing one, i physically cringed.

>> No.17337589

It’s not about the income level per say but it’s the fact that guys like that put zero effort into any other areas of fashion or hygiene. It’s like archieluxury fawning over jewelry/ watches while being five hundred pounds and living in a crap house.

>> No.17337592

>>17337192
I despise this style of watch. This watch tells me you bought if purely for the financial flex. I know of watches under 1000 that look way cooler. That’s not to say Rolexes aren’t extremely well made and nice, just boring and basic

>> No.17337594

>>17337583
Like if you own a Rolex that’s fine but you shouldn’t pair it with sneakers, a hoodie and five hundred pounds of cheap cologne.

It's about the income level tho.
If you have to work as a cashier/cook/janitor don't try to look like you ballin, nigga.

show-off with boring normie taste and probably no fashion sense. likely to be fake, no one will be able to tell at a normal distance of course because watches are a scam

Rolex is one those brands that is considered the epitome of luxury everywhere on the planet. Chanel and Ferrari are the only examples that come to my mind.
You've heard of Rolex when you were 5 years old and the name has been engraved in your memory ever since. Go outside and ask people to name 3 watch brands : 100% of them will name Rolex right away. US presidents, worldwide celebrities and athletes have been wearing Rolex since the 50s. That's the power of Rolex. They're iconic watches.

Depends on what you think this word means.

I can buy about 80 new submariners with the money I have got. Not sure if I can afford one though.

>> No.17338103

>>17338093
Yes, any Rolex.
Some are more sought after than other.
The Submariner Date (the one in the OP) retail price is 10k, but it sells for 14/15k on the grey market.
Some models sell for 2x their retail price or even more (GMT Master II or Daytona).
They're not limited editions but they're almost impossible to buy at retail price.

Rolex tightly controls the supply. The company goes to extremes. One thing they do is buy their own watches back to keep them scarce in the market. In other words if the price starts to go down Rolex will buy a bunch on the open market till the price goes back up.

The price of a submariner was like $300 when it came out and it has gone from 300 to 14k steadily over the last half century. If you have bought a sub at any time in your life you would have made money not lost
