Got these paper Rollos to black out my bedroom so I can sleep better in the room that I only use for sleeping. And also because I started using retinol so I want to shield my skin from the sun when I sleep longer on the weekends. Looking forward to getting some high quality sleep tonight lads.

I'm moving very soon (as soon as I find a rental in the town I want to move to, so most likely within a few weeks) but this is my current room before I packed my shit up. I downsized from a 2 bedroom apartment after breaking up with my ex so I've got way too much stuff for the space, and I was stuck with the furniture and paint that was already here. I'll probably have a 2bd to myself when I move and I'm gonna use the second bedroom as an office and do as much as I can to make the whole place cohesive and comfy without spending crazy money. (Which means mostly IKEA shit.)

Breakup was a while ago, I moved into this not even a studio apartment place a few years back. I'm also fully aware it's a fucking hole, not much I can do about it since I don't own it.

I'll try to find some cool stuff for the walls as well, will probably go for a mix of tasteful aviation stuff (mostly bush plane-focused) and vintage/replica concert posters etc. for my favorite artists and so on. Definitely gonna have a levergun on the wall somewhere too, probably gonna get a .22 so it's less to worry about getting stolen.

Bedroom and bathroom. I'm early in my flying career, only restarted training (I did some as a kid but that was 20+ years ago) in 2019 and it was expensive as fuck so I had to economize as much as I could, and this place does have a big advantage in that it's in a nice neighborhood and very secluded and secure, it has a separate entrance behind the house and a burglar could probably clean out the house and not notice it even exists, so good for somebody like me with a fancy PC, camera equipment (which I used to use professionally), guns, guitars, etc. Like I said earlier I'm about to move, got a job in Nevada and just need to find an apartment, and I'm in a position to have a 2 bedroom all to myself now.

It's also not exactly the beam itself leaking, the roof above it (which is actually a tile patio thing) leaks and water finds its way around the beam and then leaks out of a crack in the drywall there. It's actually only ever happened once or twice in unusually heavy rain but my bed used to be on that side of the room, so it was leaking right on top of me and I slapped that tape up to stop it.

Oh, I should add for some clarification - this house is on a hill, and on the downhill side of the street. The main part of the house is unusual in that the entrance and kitchen, living room, etc. are upstairs with bedrooms etc. below, but otherwise it's a normal 3 bedroom house. My room is part of the same building but it's a level below the rest and sticks out past the upper part, so there's no internal connection and I have to go outside and climb two flights of stairs to get to the kitchen. My roof is the patio/balcony you end up on if you walk outside the back door of the lower floor of the main house.

This is also why I have the water cooler, it's a hell of a lot more convenient to carry one big jug of water down once a week and have cold water handy all the time instead of having to get dressed, put shoes on, and go up and down the outdoor stairs any time I need a drink. I have a mini-fridge and used to buy cases of regular water bottles from Costco but it felt ridiculously wasteful and created mountains of empty bottles to deal with.

Like I said in other replies, it's a pain in the ass to get to my kitchen, and the water cooler is much more convenient than constantly burning through bottled water. It's also a vintage house with very old pipes so the tap water isn't really drinkable. I'm moving to a regular apartment of my own within the next month or so and I won't have a water cooler there, since I'll have my own fridge that I can get to in the middle of the night without having to get dressed and put shoes on.

Here’s part of my place. 3 bedroom. The black room is my projector movie/game room. My bedroom is just my king sized bed and nothing else. Just really for sleeping and nothing else. I have another bedroom and the living and dining room. Spent all the money remodeling the place so now I have no money for furniture also all stores are super out of stock for furniture or it’s a 6 month wait.
