Sunglasses are actually bad for your eyes. If you wear them all the time your eyes actually get weaker because they don't have to work as hard. There's a reason why people have to wear those super thick and super dark sunglasses after they get eye surgery. It's because their eyes are weak from the procedure and need to recover their strength before they can deal with sunlight again. So imagine wearing sunglasses all the time and gimping your eyes. Wearing sunglasses is the eyeball equivalent of riding a motorized scooter everywhere, it'll atrophy all the muscles in your legs.

The reason sunglasses are bad for you is that a lot of them aren't polarized or have UV protection. Your eyes don't squint as much when you wear them but the lack of protection allows in all the ultraviolet which damages them.
