This thread always talks about the same frags but I want to explore some lesser known stuff, I'm at the point where I just want to order samples and discover new, interesting scents

Any good frags you've tried recently?
I'm on a synthetic-futuristic binge lately, things like H24, CDG 2 and Bisch's work. Another anon has described it as scents you'd expect to smell in a place/space rather than on a person, which is a good way to put it.

>people think it's good
This is exactly why I posted what I posted. Now I don't care what the people I asked think about BI and I've made it clear that this is about what I think, and that is that BI isn't that good. I've included the statements of those people to immediately stop arguments like yours.
I don't know why you'd say that people think it's good when I've already provided you with differing opinions. You're just ignoring what I say and this point and you're trying to attack me in order to still save BI (which isn't that good). At this point, it's just straight up shilling.

>> No.17206951

>to immediately stop arguments like yours.
You're extremely stupid then, because two anecdotal (and possibly made up) recounts from an anonymous faggot on the internet do not an argument make.
>why you'd say that people think it's good
Because what matters in order to generalize is the majority opinion, my brainlet friend.
>save BI
BI doesn't need me to save it because it's objectively an exceptional fragrance and the majority of this thread either agrees with me or has no opinion because they haven't tried it yet.
Repeating that it isn't good in your impotent rage won't make it true.
The bottom line is: you think BI isn't good (because you have shit taste) and you're acting as if your worthless opinion should be taken into account by anyone at all. Stop throwing a tantrum.

I've found the other frags from EP to be pretty disappointing as a whole so far. They also seem to have mediocre performance.
Fig Infusion is a bit like Philosykos, nothing extraordinary, but it's not bad, and also cheaper than its equivalents from Diptyque, L'Artisan and Heeley. Divine Vanille doesn't smell very good to me but I don't like vanilla anyway. Mon Vetiver is generic, as far as vetiver goes you're better off with BI itself or even Encre Noire if you want more focus on the note. Rose Magnetic is actually pretty good, it's something I'd enjoy smelling on a girl, very soft, feminine, simple and pleasant, kind of airy, I like it. Haven't tried Orange x Santal, Nice Bergamote and The Musc yet.
I don't want to bash the frags too much though because it's easy to be overshadowed by something like BI. I'd say if you have a gf and like florals on women (who doesn't, anyway?), look into Rose Magnetic at least.

Im not saying this to be mean or put you down, but BI is an absolute compliment monster. It’s extremely low hanging fruit. To be honest other people enjoy it more than I enjoy it myself. I enjoy knowing that other people enjoy it. Have you considered that if it doesn’t give you compliments, BI isn’t the problem, YOU are the problem. If BI doesn’t get you compliments, nothing will.

Maybe you are just carrying yourself in a way that makes you creepy/unpleasant that people don’t want to give you a compliment. You should work on yourself. This is a very hard pill to swallow and I’m not saying this to be dick, I’m trying to help you and other anons improve yourselves.

It’s funny, the anons who tried BI and didn’t like it because it didn’t get them compliments are outing themselves as creepy neckbeards that nobody likes.

Anons who enjoy BI and gets compliments are bichads that people aren’t scared to give a compliment because they aren’t creepy.

What the fuck is the deal with performance these days being shit on literally every designer frag?

I get that you can always spray more for a greater effect, but even considering I have the money to spend on this hobby it’s just dishonest to sell something that you won’t enjoy for fuck all after 30 minutes.

Let’s take clothing as a comparison, as it is a performative hobby used for expression and attraction; I buy sweaters and pants that will last me a good time, not ones I have to replace every year. Shit performing frags are literally the h&m taking over this industry and some of you fuckwits will defend that.

i only entered "sauvage blind reaction" and clicked the first google video result, and although it was only put up against bdc, it seemed to have been preferred. it was women/men mixed, not just women, though.
in another video by a certain curly-haired woman it was put up against bdc and adg profondo and profondo came out ahead of sauvage and bdc, despite just being a boring aquatic fragrance.
there are more videos, usually sauvage vs bdc, and sauvage comes out ahead a lot.
there are sauvage vs sauvage elixir videos and those are a mixed bag, some put sauvage ahead, others elixir.

Yes that's the main takeaway. These frags are generic and interchangeable, it doesn't make any difference which one you wear, they're all inoffensive in the end.
Personally I just went for a compromise between interesting for me and crowdpleasing for others.

looking for the perfect frag to please women is stupid because in the end you don't know what the girl you're gonna end up with will like. Not every man has the same tastes and not every girl has the same tastes either. For all the basic bitches who cream themselves over BdC or whatever you might just start dating the one who gets weak in the knees for dark florals and thinks Hermann is the sexiest thing ever.
And also, wearing something you like and you feel fits you seems like a better approach since you'll just filter out the women who don't match your vibe (faggy way of saying it, but you get what I mean).

Performance is shit because of a combination of changing social standards, smoking indoors no longer being common, changes in fragrance regulations and greedy shit companies trying to maximize profits. But it's mostly the first and last ones.
Buy designer scents in the first year or two of release from major brick and mortar retailers, never buy fragrances from online retailers or discounters. Assume anything after the first few batches of a fragrance has been reformulated to have zero performance, but vintage or stinky arab frags.
If you find something you love buy a lifetime supply of it from the exact same store and batch you got the first bottle from.

not any of the anons from earlier but I tend to order from noseparis quite frequently. if I may suggest some good frags based on the earlier posts:

Nuit de Bakelite by Naomi is a great introduction to real niche; it's a fragrance that tends to fill your room and your nose will keep picking up the green pepperish notes along the day

Try something by Penhaligon, based on the notes you like: I don't consider Sartorial "that good" of a fougere. Maybe one of the Halfetis or George?

ELDO Hermann is very nice and I'd highly recommend you to sample it if you like QB's work

Malle is nice. Maybe try Geranium pour Monsieur? POAL and MR are also staples.

Something from either Nasomatto or Megamare (though I don't remember if Noseparis offers them). I think Megamare is the nicest from Orto Parisi; it's not as bad as you think - from Nasomatto I'd try Baraonda. Experience with both of these houses is highly dependent on going easy on the spritzes.

Also try Memo imo, pick one of the leathers that seem nice based on the notes. I personally love African Leather, my favourite spicy fragrance.

Rosendo Mateau No. 5 maybe? Or Costume National 21? Diptyque, HDP and D.S. Durga are good picks too. Skip Initio, Lorenzo, Kilian, Creed.
