They aren't a fashion brand so you pay for actual performance and features rather than their logo. A lot of their stuff is for hunters and soldiers without giving off cringe military cosplay vibes. There are so many details that raise the quality of something significantly that you don't even think about. Extra layer/different fabric on elbows and shoulders, wrist warmers within the sleaves, slits you can open to cool down when you are physically active, double and triple stitching with higher quality yarn, special insulation that makes it so it warms like a jacket that weighs twice as much. Sure, if you just want a fashionable jacket then all that is totally unnecessary, but if you are the least bit an outdoors man you really know the importance of certain things. Like stronger elbows and shoulders because that's where the most damage occurs. And of course the most important aspect: the weight. Sure, a jacket overall isn't heavy. But if you wear or carry it for a long time while exerting yourself physically then you will know the value of that lighter weight with the same warming potential. Those insulations are hella expensive because it's some patented synthetic hollow fiber.

I'm gonna correct something I said. The weight does make a difference even from the purely fashion-based point of view. Lighter means less bulky. So if somebody wants a jacket that looks lean and sporty while also wanting it to be warm like a bulky winter jacket, then you gotta go for those expensive insulations.

Got this Nocta jacket for half price on end a few months ago. IDK about Nocta as a whole but i like how the design leans into tech wear a little without going too far. Good for rainy days and autumn weather however the straps on the wrists are a little annoying.

Actually just tried on the greenland winter and the skogso the other day. The greenland is a better fit for tall skinny guys like me, and I also like the more traditional styling. Im the type to never ever wear a puffer jacket, nike sambas or joggers in public.

Also, they are perfect for blizzards, of which I was never in one. The great thing about these jackets is with the fur its versatile.

Not only can you remove it if you want to, but its on a flap on the edge of the hood that you fold back to have it fluffy out like an eskimo hood or fold it back in to make it a smaller circle of compressed fur for the tunnel hood that keeps in head when you have the hood up.

When you fold it down without the hood on that fur sits against your skin, so when you zip the hood up a bit you can tighten it around your ears and use it in place of earmuffs!

That jacket is so worth it.
