My problem with them is the profile moreso than the actual material. Rubber soles are usually thick and make the boots look like clunky work boots. Okay for some fits but not western non-work ones. Leather is more comfortable, classy, and better suited to casual & social events. Idk about the hybrids.

Your feet are just weak.
It's things that are weak which "require" support. If you can't manage to simply stand or move for a prolonged amount of time without your bare feet getting sore, you have weak feet, it is really as simple as that. Wearing "support" is atrophying everything that makes up the human foot, and it's foolish to claim otherwise. It's the same reality if you were to wear a back brace for "required support". Foot with the body weight pressed down on them is different from not. Whatever position you forced your foot into, it is not resting when your body weight is upon it.

Beside, whatever angle formed by crossing your foot is caused by the ankle. The arch ease doesn't lock your ankle in any way. For a low arch, no arch foot, crossing your leg does not magically create a curve for your foot.

i've been wanting to buy a really nice pair of cowboy boots for a long time. been saving up for em. however i pretty much just wear New Balances. I love them for the comfort and ease of slipping them on and off my feet.

Aesthetically though i feel like cowboy boots are exactly what i want and it's time for me to level up my look. years and years ago i used to ride horses and i remember how long it would take me to take the cowboy boots off. which i'm a little worried about, as far as it being annoying. i don't remember the comfort level though.

is it possible to be decently comfortable in a pair of cowboy boots if i'm wearing them all day? i know it's probably dumb to expect them to be like cushioned running shoes, but let's say a new balance is 10/10 comfort, could a cowboy boot at least reach 7/10?

Don't have any now, but I've returned a couple pairs before for those reasons among other ones. I've ordered White's that are due around Christmas hopefully, and I've seen some QC complaints where things come out lop-sided. personally no but if someone wasnt comfortable with it I wouldn't blame them. some manufacturers don't trim the heel stack so the top lift goes on at an angle. the main thing is did the product image shoe it flat bechse if it does then its fair to expect it. if you buy something with an obviously angled heel them you cant complain

It's basically been a debate as to whether to go for distressed roughout / brown roughout / natural waxed flesh. I'll give it some thought.

Also, from my chat with Bakers, he seems to recommend going for split sizing with the 55 Last instead of MP Last. I was sized up recently, and White's told me I'm a 10A left / 10B right. So White's recommended 10B for MP Last.

I wanted a slimmer profile, which I don't think the 55 Last achieve as well, do they? Or am I wrong?

looks like a topy but personally I'd leave it alone till it wears down and then just get a resole. youd be able to commit to a rubber sole if you want at that point or go for leather with a dovetailed top lift for a little traction if you want leather

I have the Bedale which is basically the same shoe with a different sole and waxed suede leather.

It's good quality, very wide and tankish. The facings are slightly wonky and the soles uneven until quite a bit of wear. I got them at a big discount though and really like them. Be prepared to send them back or exchange.
