The value of fashion is intangible. You are willing to pay more because of the design. How much is the "design" worth? No one can really answer that. One can say they are worth what you are willing to pay.
Viberg, as far as I know, is the godfather of slim down, heritage fashion boots.
People have been wearing work boots for fashion purpose for a long time (Red Wing) but it take until Viberg for the concept of non chunky boots to explode.
Honesly, there are worse "value" fashion boots out there, like the YSL. For a fashion boots brand, Viberg still offer a lot in term of materials, leather insole, midsole, counter, toe puff (which is rare, this board darling White's doesn't even offer that).

Well, my new Stows don’t fit quite right, they’re a size too large. Actually went and measured my feet and who knew I’d been wearing a size too large my entire adult life. I wore them out and about twice, conditioned the leather, etc. Can’t return so reselling them on eBay. Will I get a ban if I post the link? List price is fair and I’d cut a deal for a fellow /fa/ggot. Size 10 US

This is my first pair of “real” boots. I thought I was a size 10 in Doc Martens, but that cushy sole masks a poor fit. Measured my fit and used the recommended chart on Trickers site and turns out I’m a 9 US (8 UK). Tried on my Docs and now I notice they’re definitely a size too big. Tried on a pair of loafers I bought “sized down” to a 9 and they fit perfectly. So, if you know what your actual brannock size is, you’re probably fine.

>> No.17166922

>>17166918
Yes. I tried thick wool socks. I tried insoles too. The insoles made the fit all weird, and even with thick socks they just felt loose. Had to lace them up super tight just to get the instep secure and then the balls of my feet and toes had too much room. I’d rather take a loss on these and get a pair with the proper fit than be stuck wearing boots that are slightly too large for a decade plus.

Suede holds up very well. Pic related are suede Aldens that are 5+ years old that have been worn at least 3x a week. I’ve only ever used a suede eraser and a damp cloth on them so they’re super low maintenance. In fact it’s probably about time I suede shampooed them. If it is quality suede from a reputable tannery used by a reputable manufacturer it will definitely hold up. Also use shoe trees.

Like the first reply said. Put something on the inside like newspaper to protect. Then get the outside evenly wet with fresh water. Having it wet even all over is very important so you don't have random wet patches when they dry. Then leave them outside under shelter to dry naturally over the next 1~2 days. Try to avoid leaving them in the direct sunlight. At first they'll feel a little different but after wearing them again they should go back to where they were originally.
