All Rolex are assembled in the same factory, have in-house movement, share the same level of finishing and go through the same process of QC.
The Oyster Perpetual (the cheapest Rolex) has the same movement as the Submariner no date. An 8k€ stainless steel Explorer II has the exact same movement as a 40k€ white gold GMT-Master II.
It's not like IWC where the cheapest models are made with flimsy steel and ETA movement, while the most expensive are made with luxurious material and in-house calibers. Some Rolex are basic and low-key, other are tacky and gaudy. But there are no disgraceful Rolex.

Alright anons, after extensive research I've determined that a 37mm dive watch is ideal for my 6 inch baby wrist (since 36 is slightly too small and 38 feels slightly too bulky). Does a single 37mm diver exist though other than these Rados? No way I'm paying 2k for a powermatic though, I'm confused there's no ETA 2892 equivalent or chronometer spec version. Plus this brand is always shilled by pajeets and Teddy Bulbasaur. Any other options?

1mm up or down isn't that important, case diameter isn't the most important watch measurement anyway, lug to lug is. In general not every watch of the same diameter will 'wear' the same, case profile, thickness, center of gravity, whether the bezel overhangs or not, lug width to case diameter ratio and other proportions all play a role in how a watch sits on a wrist. Also keep in mind that wrists are not one dimensional, some are wider than others while having the same circumference. If possible always try the watch on before you buy it, that way you can see if it actually fits you or not.

Don't get so hung up on case diameter, it's less important than you think. The most important measurement for assessing how a watch is likely to wear is the distance from lug to lug, since that's generally accepted as what makes a watch look too big on a wrist, pic related is a 36mm case but the long lugs make it look bigger. Case thickness is also something to consider, a couple of millimeters can make a massive difference.

I know, it's simplistic, and I noticed that my 38mm diver has male end links which probably makes it wear bigger. But I mean I'd assume a similarly proportioned diver in a slightly smaller size would suit me better. I don't want any lug overhang so no Nomos for me.

forget the case diameter and look into lug to lug sizes and the endlinks, idk where but I've seen some reviews mention the real lug to lug, with endlinks included, that's the most important dimension for finding a watch that fits you

>> No.17102770

>>17102761
You’ll be able to get exactly the fit you want if you go off lug to lug measurements instead of case diameter. I’m similar to you in that I’m very picky about there being no lug overhang and I only ever look at lug to lug distance. For example a Seiko Turtle with a massive 45mm case diameter is actually only 47mm lug to lug. For reference a 40mm submariner is also 47mm lug to lug.

The only thing I can think of is the Frederique Constant monolithic escapement. You can see its operation here:

https://youtu.be/PBjtEoHnV70?t=260

I've seen it running in real life and it hums virtually faster than the eye can see, truly innovative if a little sterile like most silicon developments. There could be others but even the Girard Perregaux linear spring thing has a balance wheel. There will certainly be more as time goes on.

Very hard to scroll past such a poignant little note as your post and I'm really sorry that you experience loneliness to the degree that you find the interactions here preferable to being left to your thoughts.
I'm saying this very gently, but you aren't really meant to be on your own since that wasn't the way god designed you, yet i'm guessing since you're here you have yet to make peace with your creator, christ jesus.
You should seriously consider looking into the truth claims of the god who became a man and demonstrated his authority by his life, the fulfilment of thousand year old prophecies and by healing the sick, giving sight to the blind and resurrecting the dead, because if those claims are accurate, they promise a life of peace despite all circumstances, joy unspeakable and an assurance that no matter where you are, you are always standing before the throne of the god who loved you so much he went to the cross for you.

https://watchesbysjx.com/2021/05/rolex-chronergy-analysis.html
It's a bit more complicated than that, Kenji Abe filed the patent but was too late to further develop his work at Seiko (it was at the end of the 70's when the observatory trials were no longer held) and Seiko still uses conventional sizes for it's pallets and club teeth today (it's all about geometry). But he did some important research on the matter that was later picked up by the two guys that are responsible for the Chronergy escapement.
>His findings seemingly forgotten, Abe doubtlessly embarked on his research as part of Seiko’s quest to beat the Swiss at precision mechanical timekeeping. Ironically, Abe’s approach appears to have been recently rediscovered by the Swiss, reemerging in the work of Raphael Cettour-Baron and Alexandre Chiuve at Rolex.
>The escapement invented by the duo has been brought to market as part of Chronergy. Citing Abe’s work, Cettour-Baron and Chiuve experimented with escapement components manufactured with modern technology, rediscovering and adapting the benefits of Abe’s research. The pair have also reaped the advantages of high-frame rate imaging and computer-supported dynamic analysis in their development of the escapement.
