It finally fucking arrived bros. I'm incredibly happy with this for 220 quid, got it for an absolute banger of a price and the dial looks way more like a silver with a slight hint of blue in person than the bold baby blue in literally all of the product/listing shots I've seen. I got to check out the green and dark blue one in person a little while ago and just didn't like them as much. I think this is probably the most underrated colour considering most people are going for the green or dark blue one as this one looks pretty shit in most of the online listings for it, which is a massive shame.

>The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Knights of the Round Table II features 12 meticulously sculpted miniature bronze knights positioned around a precious black jade dial that is masterfully engraved and weighted with symbolism. As you’d expect from such an extraordinary degree of complexity and sophistication, it takes Roger Dubuis’s artisans an entire day to micro-engrave one knight and an entire month to make just two dials. The satin, white-gold circular flange surrounding the center of the dial is engraved and patinated to obtain the cobblestone paving effect for the Knights to stand on.

Ticwatches in the UK. If you apply the new user discount and buy it on a weekend when they reduce them to 250, you can get them down to 225 all-in with postage. There's a mad fucking wait though as they are in high demand right now and Tissot are apparently experiencing supply issues, but they do (eventually) show up. I bought mine on the 16th of last month and it came in today. I grabbed mine from here if you want to have a look. They have the dark blue one as well if you're into that: https://www.ticwatches.co.uk/tissot-t1372101135100-prx-35mm-blue-silver-ladies-watch-p37380

Nice Vostok BTW Anon, is that bezel custom or a factory one? I've always liked them but my wrist is too small for 99% of dive watches.
>>17070389
>35mm looks good on you and I like the ice blue color
Thanks a lot dude, I really dig it too. I wasn't all that into the other colours, but the ice blue just really grabbed me for some reason. My grail was an oysterquartz for years, but I honestly prefer how angular this is, and I prefer the smaller bracelet links too.
>I just wish they made an automatic version of it. I don't like quartz that much.
Yeah, I can get this. I know it's put a lot of people off of it, and I think Tissot probably know that too. If I were you, I'd hold on as they'll probably do an auto version sooner or later if I had to guess. When it comes to this one, I would honestly still have bought the quartz one even if an auto was available. It's based on the Tissot Seastar quartz from the 70's, so I think quartz just suits it better. I'm perfectly OK with quartz in general though, but I do get why a lot of people are exclusively into autos and hand wound. Pic related.
>>17070387
Thanks brother, it's the first watch I've ever bought that isn't a vintage piece, so it's kind of special to me.

Second hand on mine lines up almost perfectly, but it *is* a known problem on some examples, so be careful. I'm not too autistic about this sort of thing, so it wasn't much of an issue for me going into this, but I get why it'd be a dealbreaker for a lot of people.
>Green
I've seen dark blue and green in person, and both look pretty good, but I'd strongly recommend you go and check them out yourself as they both look very different IRL vs the product shots and various pics online. I was actually shocked by how inaccurate the product photos represent the actual watches. I bought the ice blue one as I heard it was more silvery and decided to take a chance on it (which I'm glad I did, as it is way more like a silver than a true blue).
>>17070519
Honestly mate, I can't recommend them highly enough - you're not going to find them cheaper anywhere else. As long as you're patient and don't want it yesterday (like I did), they do eventually show up. I bought it back before they put he "10 - 15 day" delivery shit on their site, so I was pretty pissed off at first that I was missing out on next day delivery, but it was 100% worth the wait and I'm glad I didn't shitcan the order and go elsewhere.
>6 inch noodles wrists
I feel it bro, mine are probably around the same size. Your watch looks really nice, I've got a zakaz/defense ministry komandirskie and a few komandirskie cadet models myself. I really dig Vostoks and Russian/Soviet stuff in general. The value for money you can get is unreal. A Pobeda from the 90's got my wife into watches as well, and she really digs Russian stuff also. I'll post some pics of our collections in a bit, just chilling on the couch at the moment and can't be assed taking pics, kek.

I just started a collection with a theme; watches that represent meaningful periods or aspects of my life. For example I just got a Tissot PRX powermatic 80 with a green dial that for me represents a very decadent and excess-prone time of my life.

Now I'm looking for a watch that represents a business that i've run for 5 years now with a lot of ups and downs, that I've hated and loved at different times and that I feel I am always going to be able to come back to at any future point in my life, so I'm thinking a rugged watch that's versatile would go well with what it's supposed to represent. I've tought about:

Hamilton Khaki - But can't get around it's shitty WR
Boldr Expedition - I'm not sure it's very versatile
Some Victorinox Inox - Don't like the looks
Seiko alpinist - Something's off for me whenever I look at one, maybe the elevated bezel or something

I already own a g shock and wouldn't think of getting another one and am too poor for a rolex explorer I. Any thought? I'm pretty happy and get a lot of fun out of trying to build a themed collection, would recommend.

The most popular sports models have long waiting lists. Day-Dates are a relatively high-production model that don't sell as well as the cheaper steel sports models so the wait would not be as long. About 3-6 months.
Of course, if you were extremely specific about getting a rare metal/dial combination, then you'd have to wait because sometimes they only make 100 of some combinations.

>Cartier Santos
You can find them for around +-3000€, your best bet would be to buy from the Japanese, they will severely lower the price because the watch doesn't look like it's brand new out of the box.
>Longines Heritage Classic
Caliber L893 Automatic sits inside, brand new for ~2300$
>Vintage Omega Seamasters
There are a lot of them, like seriously numerous dials, case materials, movements, etc. of course there are automatics. Depending on the condition and age they start at about 500$ and from then the sky is the limit. Most of the decent-looking ones are in the +1000$ mark tho.

mixed blessing really

Dress watches are very underappreciated right now, but obviously people should buy something they like. But when people say the thing that they like just so happens to be the thing that literally every other person that has gotten into watches in the last 3 years likes, you have to ask yourself if you actually like it or if you've just bought into a trend.

Your fixation on "hype" suggests that you're upset that they're popular. Why is that? Because you want one and don't want to admit to having NPC tastes, or that other people can get something you can't afford?

here's an interesting watch I just picked up.

80s Omega Polaris with a titanium and palladium case. Unfortunately, they only ever made this particular model in a 31mm case size or an even smaller womens version that is 24mm if I remember correctly. But because of its size and that it is quartz it's quite inexpensive. I believe it trades for less than the value of inlaid palladium. The chronographs which are titanium and gold or steel and gold are 38mm and quite inexpensive.

No, I actually have never liked any of the daytonas, really don't like the aesthetic of modern ceramic rolexes and recently tried on an Aquanaut and was completely unmoved. What I don't like about the hype is that many people are entering the watch space without really understanding it because its the popular thing to do right now and spinning the entire thing into an asset bubble when watches fundamentally are not assets. Imo, the watch market right now is very similar to the panerai craze of the 00s or the bubble back rolex craze of the 80s. Do I want to own a panerai or bubble back rolex? No, not at all. The current situation is going to hurt a lot of people, and I think that is bad.

You can't afford a Rolex, fine. But it got to hurt a little bit if it's supposed to represent a milestone in you life, your creation of a business and hard work. You want to wear something you can be proud of. Hamilton, bilder, Victorinox and Seiko ain't fucking it.

Jlc, Cartier, Omega, Breitling, Zenith or anything.
