If you buy used you dont sneed to worry about the value because you’ll have gotten it at the depreciated price. Honestly though, material as investments even as just stable holders of their value is dumb and nonsensical. At the very least its tainted by the title of “pre owned” the second you buy it. Best bet is probably a tudor or cartier though because they have regular price increases and an incredibly strong brand vs something like nomos.

They still have a bigger "field" variant of Olympos so you're not entirely right. That said, I wish there were more normal sized watches styled exactly like "unusual" vintage watches except better, since now that shit can be manufactured for thousand times less.

I am buying of a dealer from Japan. They have sent extra photos which all look great to me, they have 900 positive reviews.

Yet something in the back of my head is screaming at me that im going to get scammed. i.e. the movement doesnt keep good time or the previous owners done something dodgy with it

I could be totally wrong but my understanding is chrono 24 hangs onto your money until you've received the watch and confirm it is what you expected. So you could take it to an ad and verify authenticity, put it in one of those accuracy measuring things, etc etc before c24 releases funds. I've never actually bought anything from there but that's my understanding from reading the site.

I was thinking of the nomos ahoi. The tudor bb36 is also great looking, but the dial is boring and the watch shape itself feels very generic so it falls under the explorer esque umbrella
