Baltig has a few that look like that, but you're not going to get finishing like the JLC: the applied numerals, the differing textures on the hands, the three different textures on the rotating ring, hour track and center.

There was an anon here who had one just like that. He used to post here pretty regularly, but he's fucked off. He declared he liked where his collection was and bid us all adieu.

>On the other hand I think that I should spread the purchases out over a few months, but financially it doesn't make a difference.
Planning first and foremost is the most important part. Guys with giant collections that are all over the place are that way because they make impulse purchases.

- Pick the only the watches that you like. Do not consider any backups or cope-pieces or just-as-good. Along that path lies only "upgrading", "the watch journey", and consoooming. If you can't afford what you want right now, save up.
- Be conscious of the reason you want each of your watches. That reason can be "I need a dress watch" or "I think the movement is beautiful" but if you just click Buy It Now on a good deal without asking yourself why you want the watch in the first place, it will end up clogging up your watch box.

tl;dr: don't cope, don't buy on impulse.

You assumed correctly. I wore $50 quartz watches, then one day in college the strap broke and I decided that I don't need them anymore because I have the time on my phone. Now I got back into watches, as accessories/jewelry mostly, and bought my first "expensive" $250 watch. So far I like it very much and I have a good idea about what kind of watchrs I want aesthetically. That's why for now I am doing some research and comparing various brands and models.

>I just want to plan my collection, buy it all in a relatively short time frame, then enjoy it.
Anon, you literally have no idea what you will enjoy. I planed my whole collection and even wrote it down before I bought anything. The first watch I enjoyed for a long while but once I bought my second one that I didn't plan on buying my entire list of priorities completely changed. Even now I'm winding down my collection and focusing on what I really enjoy. Someone else would keep the watches I'm getting rid of and get rid of the ones I'm keeping. The only way to know for sure is to experience them. From every watch I buy I learn something. Sometimes I learn what I like about it and sometimes I learn what I don't like about it. If you knew you could just save your money and buy it but that is hard to do without owning it first.

I disagree. Screwbacks are heavier and thicker, but offer nothing extra in terms of specs. The exact same shock resistance, the exact same depth rating.
It's a neat little historic thing for Casio nerds, but in the real world, all it is is less comfortable.

What you should do instead is build a Featherlight.
Get a GW-S5600-1JF (the one with the carbon strap) then add the strap from the GW-5000 and the bezel from the GW-M5600.

That's the ultimate square for people who actually wear their watches and don't just post them on reddit.

"Screwback" refers to the old style where the caseback was threaded into the case like a Rolex.
The first G-Shocks were like that but are now just held down with 4 screws. A few years ago, Casio reintroduced the screwback for some anniversary models and has retained it for their most expensive squares.

It's not useless for everybody. You can't get signal in many places, or maybe you need to take off the watch at night and leave it close to a window for it to be able to sync, which is a hassle. Bluetooth solves this for many people.

You're fucking retarded. You buy a watch with a carbon fiber strap that is responsible for the majority of the cost of the watch and the whole reason the watch exists then you get rid of it. You can buy a fucking DW-5600 and it's only a few grams heavier and save $300. The only part that is actually lighter on a GW-S5600 is the backplate you retard so just get that.

Also screwbacks only add like .2mm and they feel like any other watch that is not a plastic G-Shock because that is how most watches are designed.

That's not the point. Nobody actually wears RM watches, except a few rich retards from Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
They're made to speculate and avoid taxes.

Do you need more detailed information? The general idea is:
- 38-41mm, black dial, silver body, black leather strap; optionally a bracelet and separate strap
- 36-40mm, light dial, gold body, brown leather strap
preferences:
- no numerals or roman numerals
- thin case, 12mm and upwards looks thick to me but can work if the case itself is flat (e.g. 2mm bezel, 8mm case, 3mm case back)
- automatic movement
- dauphine hands or other "fine" looking hands
- few complications, day and/or date is okay, but I can do fine without
- budget is $500 to $1500 per watch
got some good suggestions in previous threads already.
The more tedious process is looking at the models, finding photos instead of renders, comparing details such as water resistance, movement manufacturer, etc.
Might post everything here once I have it.

this one kinda annoys me, its really hard to see but i must have scuffed against something with a rough, hard surface at some point. the metal part of the bezel is a little scratched. the rest of it is completely perfectly smooth, i have no idea how that happened.

yeah honestly it was really hard to get it on a pic.
if you look at the "peaks" of the bezel, the second and third from the top reflect the light differently because they are a little deformed, just as youd expect them to be when banging them against a door when walking by it.

Order is the barrier that holds back the flood of death. We must all of us on this train of life remain in our allotted station. We must each of us occupy our preordained particular position. Would you wear a Invicta as a cuck? Of course you wouldn't wear a Invicta as a cuck. An Invicta doesn't belong to a cuck. A Seiko belongs to a cuck. An Invicta belongs to a chad. I am a chad. You are a cuck. Invicta belongs to me. Seiko belongs to you. Yes? So it is. In the beginning, order was proscribed by your ticket: First Class, Economy, and freeloaders like you. Eternal order is prescribed by the sacred engine: all things flow from the sacred engine, all things in their place, all passengers in their section, all water flowing. all heat rising, pays homage to the sacred engine, in its own particular preordained position. So it is. Now, as in the beginning, I fuck the pussy. You jerkoff on the side. When the cuck seeks the place of the chad, the sacred line is crossed. Know your place. Keep your place.

You can't afford it. You should have just bought a rep or a G shok. Rolexes are assembly line watches. If you would hesitate to use it as a hammer in a pinch, it's too expensive for you. You are missing the entire point of the watch - enjoying wearing it.

Yes but it has a negative display. If you want a positive display there is a blue one: GW-M5610U-1C. Outside of that your options are the GW-S5600U which has a carbon fiber band, or a GW-5000U which has a screw lock case. They are all japan only with the last two also being available in the EU.
