Those are Red Wing Iron Rangers. They're reasonably popular but for good reason: decently priced, durable as fuck, good looking (contrarians will call them clown shoes, ignore them) and will probably outlive you will. Also compare them to the Blacksmiths, they're similar but with a plain toe and a lug sole. Either would be solid choices.

Also neither will be comfy out of the box. Breaking them in can be painful as fuck but once they break they fit like a glove.

Budget? Good boots can get expensive (more so than red wing). Like the other poster said iron rangers are fine, people on here are just contrarian and call things that are popular bad because they don't know how to form an opinion on their own.

I have a pair of Iron Rangers I've had for a few years now. They're great, I can't complain about them at all.
That being said, they're pretty entry level. I have some Whites boots that are simply on another level then the Red Wings

Look for Iron Rangers on sale. If you are just wearing them casually and clean/condition them when needed on occasion, they can last at least a decade.

I wear iron rangers because I got memed into buying them and can't afford to buy a pair of something decent now that I've wasted my money on these pieces of shit. They're the most uncomfortable thing you can imagine putting around your feet, they DO look like clown shoes, and they suck for work. A guy complimented me on them once though.

This is extremely overhyped by people looking at pictures on the internet. Also the toe looks better on IRs than on the Beckmans. At least IRs are supposed to look like work boots.

I have Thursday boots. Bought them like 2 years ago and they have held up nicely, and they're the shoes that i use the most, have even gone hiking with them. Boot snobs will say they suck but desu I'd recommend them. I've heard quality can be a bit inconsistent tho, so keep that in mind

Thursdays are fine for everyday boots. Wouldn't use them on a job site or anything though.
Most boot fags will shit on Thursday because they have a "hip" marketing campaign and are strongly advertised on Facebook and Instagram.

Yeah they definitely aren't as durable as Red Wings but at the end of the day most people don't need something that can handle that level of abuse. Thursdays are great entry-level boots.

I own Red Wings, but I'm considering getting Thursdays next fall. I want a moc toe to rotate with my Blacksmiths and they have a more low-profile moc than RW or Whites. Yes they aren't as well made but they're still perfectly acceptable for a 'fashion boot'.

The issue is them comparing themselves to grands like the ones I listed above. You can't be a brand new company and say "we're just as good as the people who made the boots your great-grandpa wore and we're cheaper" because that's not fucking possible.

I’d advise against brown boots unless you almost always wear colors that go well with them (people that dress in traditional workwear all the time usually this but in most fits brown work boots look very out of place)

Camper’s boots are good looking and when they’re on sale they’re honestly a pretty good deal; definitely not work boots but they’re quite durable for daily use/light outdoors stuff — all made in spain

Marsell’s designs are beautiful and they’re highly regarded, especially the leather quality (using luxury product criteria and not blue-collar work boot criteria) but the price is definitely up there

Generally with fashion brands, even if their clothing has really high build quality, unless the company has a reputation for quality footwear the shoes are likely to be uncomfortable and/or delicate because making shoes is such a specialized process compared to other garments

Doc martens are mostly made in China and have pretty bad quality control but their air-filled sole does make them really comfy for casual use after breaking them in (which is why people in the boot general here call them sneakers and not real boots)

Shoes (especially boots and sneakers) from the big luxury conglomerates (gucci, dior, LV, etc) are almost always terrible products for the price with a few exceptions

>>15988411
There's something about Beckmans that are more cartoonish and clown-y than IRs or BS. I think it's because they essentially use dress-boot leather on a work-style boot. I'd advise most people to avoid them unless you're stuck in 2010 and wear nothing but raw denim, flannels, and beard oil.
