15971576 No.15971576 [Reply] [Original]

I need a recommendation on a pair of jeans for work and in general.
Something that looks good and is durable/quality but not expensive, I don't want to pay $300 for jeans because they'll probably be getting dirty. Regular fit.
I need help, I don't know anything about jeans, I've been wearing khakis my whole life. I don't even know what brands of jeans exist besides Levis.

do you not own a laundry machine?

They will probably be getting abraded and ripped up too, and not everything might wash out.

OK, thank you. Is there any real difference like pockets or thickness of material?

levis 502 tapered leg
541 if you're doing a lot of bending. they still have a tapered leg, but there's more room in the thigh and seat area.

they're always on sale somewhere for $35-$45

Pockets are mostly the same, thickness-wise it depends on the type of pants not on the brand. I got 6 pairs all at once 3 years ago (both brands) and they range thin fromto thick. I recommend trying them on at the store so you can get a good feel. Also, they have sales all the time and theyre usually 35~ bucks a pair. Worth a visit

Thank you, this is very helpful. I will probably get those 541s then.
Thanks everyone

I wear jeans with a bit of break. And socks. In any case, some variation in length is fine, and while too short has a bit more historical occurrence than too long, anything too far in either direction is going to look dated outside its given moment, never mind bad (potentially).

Look at local facebook marketplace/craigslist type sites for older levis 501s, from when they were better made. They're usually damn cheap if they're not being sold by "vintage"-peddling zoomers

Lee is much better quality than Levis now, I use jeans for work clothes like they were intended and a pair of Lees will easily last a couple years while Levis are shit after one. Wrangler are pretty good but not as durable as their weight suggests. Walmart brand seem to be about equal to Levis.

workers don't wear jeans.
if it doesn't post the oz 14 or more, it's not worth it.
can you spend $100? get some used N&F off grailed.
otherwise, just buy work pants, like carhart Duck cloth for painters/carpenters. Jeans unfortunately are workingclass fashion, not actual working clothes unless you're a factory line worker.
