I scanned through that whole collage looking for the Seikomatic-P. Nice to see it made in in. Haven't worn the King Seiko 45-7001 in a bit, need to get it back in the rotation. I've got a Citizen PM56-2952 on the way from Japan at the moment.

I really like this. This watch is basically exactly what I asked about a few times in these threads, but it doesn't *completely* fit my autistic preferences. I think it's a great "ultimate modern field watch" - it feels rugged, it has solar power, it has a day/date, it has atomic time, and it actually LOOKS like a no-frills mechanical field watch, it doesn't have random bullshit on the dial like Edifice watches tend to have.

I only wish it was slightly more tacticool.

Hell no. Having said that when I was about 12-13 I never took off my Casio (it had decent WR and I thought it was amazing being able to wear it in the bath) and then one day I noticed that my wrist had started growing abnormally due to me never adjusting the watch strap sizing.

Radioactive? IDK, the thought has crossed my mind, that could be the reason why the dial is the way it is. The lume doesn't work anyway. I was considering swapping that chapter ring for a non-lumed one because the paint is quite sloppily applied, but the watch looks a bit too clean overall then, to me at least. Another option would be to take the chapter ring out and scrape the lume off and clean it, and fit non-lumed hands. I will probably buy another one in bad condition to use for parts and maybe i'll swap some parts as well later on. It was my grail watch before i got it, i'm a poorfag so i'm really quite happy with what i have at the moment.

Yeah, that guy has been an extremely useful resource since I started working on vintage Seikos myself, the pictures are great, especially since some movements only have bad photocopies of the service manuals available, if even that.
Have a 5146 Presmatic (a later, hi-beat development of the 51 line) coming in atm, after that I've finally worked on something from all of the late 60's, early 70's thinner Seiko automatic movement lines (so 83, 56 and 52 lines in addition to that). Seriously great movements, especially the higher end versions, too bad moder Seiko is mostly thick 7S derivatives.

Thx lads. I forgot to mention I have milanese strap that I bought for it and it looks pretty good but it end up being pretty blingy. Kind of took a way from the dial a bit because the bracelet was pretty loud. Might try it again to be sure. I guess I'm so urgent for help because I really like the watch but I've found it really hard to find a strap I like. Seems like tan or grey might be the way to go. Thoughts on pic related? Yes, that's nice and casual and goes well with lots of earth tone casual outfits.
The general rule of thumb is if your watch is really shiny and has a loud dial like the cocktail time, you want to dress it down. It comes with a shitty quality "fancy" strap to dress it up and make it extra fancy so if you want to dress it down you need something leather, neutral tone, flat. Milanese won't work because it's adding more shine, you want less. That strap looks good.

The 55x/56x/61x/75x family that preceded it was one of the greatest mass produced mechanical watch movements of all time. The prices for 75x powered models with 70s-esque styling weren't too out of hand, last time I looked. 56x models and 55x and 56x models with more classic 60s styling are much higher.

It's a vertical clutch so essentially when it's stopped the mechanism is under constant stress, running the chrono will release the mechanism. Here's my 6139, sadly not a Pogue but I like it regardless.

This is one of the more proportional Grands I've seen, not even the power reserve gauge is in an especially retarded position. Also the lugs are great. IMO all "serious" watches should have lugs that range between this and the old Speedy lugs, I don't get why they put fucking abominations for lugs on so many watches.

Wouldn't by my choice or case shape (I'm mostlly partial to the 45GS and 62GS cases), but so long as you like it, it's a very well made watch and a decent deal at what you paid for it. I'm looking at picking up a 9F quartz model in a few months. Probably the SBGP001, unless the blue dial convinces me in person.

I was originally going for one of the quartz, but I really liked the proportions on this one and on account of getting a pay rise at work I could justify the extra price. The blue dial is particularly good in person as well. While I like the 62gs case in person, the styling is a bit too aggressive for me, reminds me of a vk commodore front end
