Hi all, really want some help deciding on my first watch purchases.
I wear a lot of earth tones and neutrals, not too many loud colours.
I wouldn't say my style is "vintage" but I do wear a lot of vintage clothes that I've thrifted or bought online.

I used to have a basic silver Casio which I loved, but I lost it. I like the look of this other Casio with the day, date, and a lovely picture of the Earth which I don't think would be much use but still looks cool.
I also like the look of these Timex piees, which are quite simple and minimalist without looking like a DW or something.

Any advice or suggestions welcome, thanks

I'd probably replace the Casio as a first point; can never hurt to start a watch collection with something you know you love.

Of those three I prefer the Casio. Timex is really pushing its 'vintage' credentials a little too hard and neither of those watches feel very elegant.

You're obviously not fussed about mechanicals so you could consider Victorinox, Seiko, more premium Casio models, Luch, Vostok, Braun?

This watch is prettier and more elegant than any of the "trinity" sports watches, has more history than the Overseas, has a hand-finished movement, is thin, and is aesthetically perfectly balanced. It has a smarter technical design than a Royal Oak. It is also easy to purchase, widely available, and half the price (MSRP, let alone secondary market price) of any of those other watches.

So why does it get almost no respect or recognition even amongst watch enthusiasts?

No, the weakest of the 6 are clearly the Longines and Oris. Grand Seiko is real good, especially the Seiko, Grand Seiko dial since those are much more accessible and you don't sacrifice anything. I prefer the Spring Drive movements though. Cartier Tank is a fine dress watch, albeit quartz.

Just got this yesterday as my first Citizen. Love everything about the design, even the crowded world city bezel. Although I'm slightly disappointed with the QC as the dial/movement moves when setting the time (I read that's kinda normal) and the minute-hour hands are misaligned.

The bracelet is really nice for a low-ish-end Citizen, but I'll be trying on different straps for the meantime.

avoid getting any dogshit budget moon phase or chrono movements get a simple workhorse eta, Sellita , seiko movement. Something anyone can service and they will be parts from after a nuclear apocalypse.

Something dressy/casual that you can wear every day regardless of the environment. That will gain a bit of character after it gets rouged up a little. I'd suggest something like a Sinn 556i which you can dress up or down pretty reasonably

I think going that route will get you and whoever you pass it on to a little more timeless than some faux heritage piece. That being said it's your money do what ever the fuck you want to do

Good advice. Get something stainless with an ETA/Sellitta or NH35. The Sinn 5561 would be a great pick, maybe a hammy if you really not into bracelets that much (though a few of them do come on one) and with a conservative colour.
If you happen to be super set on a chronograph but are willing to give up a more dressy option I'd suggest a Hamilton Khaki Chronograph second hand. Valjoux movement (therefore repairable in perpetuity) and can be picked real cheap if you shop around, one sold on r*ddit for 600usd not to long ago.

I think in terms of a milestone watch that you potentially want to pass on I think more timeless is safer.
