are you looking for dress boots?
I'd get Carmina at the cheapest, Crockett and Jones if you can splurge a bit.

There's your real answer. Hopefully you respect yourself enough to buy decent footwear.

Danner lasts a while, usually 3-4 winters before the sole starts to separate near the arch. Cheap fix will get you another year or two, then you'll want to weigh the cost of resole/rebuild against new boots. Never had the leather part wear out, currently on my 4th pair.

>> No.15900711

>>15900549
Agreed and I usually go with new boots instead of resole. They've done very well for me in my line of work.
>>15899350
Danners are excellent for hiking. However, as someone who wears them daily on the job, I prefer to hike in light weight, more breathable boots like Solomon X Ultras.

Ariat
as much as it pains me to say this bc its hard to find a pair that isnt ugly as sin...but theyre good outdoor boots.
Ive had horses with feet bigger than mine stomp on mine and it was like nothing ever happened...whereas theyve destroyed many other shoes just by stepping on the edge.
inb4 horsefucker - just saying its a good way to tell durability

Not him but I’m in western wear daily for work. If you’re going to wear cowboy boots then you can get away with stuff like silk scarves and jacquard jackets pretty easy. Look at RRL mannequins for inspo.

Having the logo and the signature on the boot is just horrible. The patch on the back, the branding, the band on the heel some of the stitching are all over-detailing and detract far more than they add. These boots probably don't even satisfy this thread's modest criterion of durability, either.

>> No.15904521

Kind of off-topic, but I fucked up and put too much polish on my boot, and there's visible polish in the stitching holes throughout the boot. I've used renomat and sadle soap, neither could remove it. I can only apply them with a cloth or sponge, toothbrush wasn't cutting it since the amount of pressure it needs to get it out damages the leather. I have a sharp metal stick I can remove most of it with but there's still some left over. Probably going to do that for every hole, but I'd like something to follow it up with that can really clear the rest out, if not just do it alone. Won't do alcohol, tried a bit on a small part and it stains the leather.
