The LF1 was called bizarre and hated by sneaker fans and Acronym fans alike and initially sat on the shelves. 5 years later, both the design and functionality have been ripped off by Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Zara, Y-3 and many more.

Yes, the LF1s eventually became more popular and a meme shoe but they were unanimously hated initially; even by the die hard Acronym heads on sufu. The side zip was not revolutionary functionality, both the Stan Smith Zip Lite and the Adidas x Porter Superstar released in 2011. And the zips on the Y-3 Stans allow you to remove the lacing system, changing the look of the shoe.
