Here's 4 options:

ideal world, poor: Casio Edifice
ideal world, rich: Breitling, Fortis, or Sinn

current world, poor: no watch, better you pretend that you "don't wear a watch" than wearing some $250 shitter
current world, rich: Rolex

I’ve found 6 to be a reasonable number. The fact is even with 6 watches I only really wear 3 consistently. I won’t buy another without getting rid of at least one just to free up space. I really don’t think that it is a good idea to keep buying watches impulsively - the collection just gets out of control too quickly. Keeping it at a certain number means I consider the next piece more carefully.

Progress on the 3d printed mechanical clock, I can't get over how cheap this is.

The black parts were literally free. As I have spools laying around with less than 2 feet left on them (less than $0.25 worth) and I managed to squeeze these parts off.

I decided to run the entire drivetrain on transparent blue so that you can see the infill pattern when it's put together and light it behind it.

The face I'm thinking about either buying pla/iron filament. Or just doing a white because I have a sample laying here with just enough to do it so it will be a $0 face.

Bearing is literally a bearing off an old fidget spinner.

I have to buy a bunch of hardware though.

They're a meme.

They present themselves as hardcore tool watches (Spartan looks, tegimented steel, ...), but then they nearly all have mechanical movements.
My kid's Peppa Pig watch is more robust than a Sinn. Not to mention more accurate.

I'm into mechanical watches because of the craftsmanship and finishing, and I'm into quartz because of the robustness and accuracy.
Sinn is the worst of both worlds.

I can't decide on my first Rolex bros...

I think it's come down to the Datejust, Oyster or Explorer.

I can't decide if I want the clean classic look of the Oyster, or the clean sporty look of the Explorer. The Datejust has more bling, and a date I won't use, but it's very iconic and instantly says "Rolex" at a cursory glance. The Jubilee bracelet is also tits, and the steel bracelet of the other two is very boring and kind of ugly IMO.

I would be using a leather strap to turn each into a dress watch.

Having trouble bros... I really almost want both and explorer and a datejust, but that is too much $$$.

They better do for the €1720 it costs. Idk, drop them a mail, they are very overpriced for what they are and the company seems like a one man show so you can prolly get them to sell it to you with a black strap.
I wouldn't advise you to spend that much on a Miyota shitter, but if you do you should at least insist that they give you two spare sapphire crystals with it because you simply won't find anyone to produce one in that unique shape if anything happens to it.
Honestly, don't do it, it's not worth that much and it'd be a nightmare to sell, set up an ebay notification if one shows up at half the price and let it go.

To the ADs and the Rolex community,

I have carefully examined the market for Rolex timepieces and decided to participate after finding out that buying significant amounts of Rolexes is rewarded with the possibility of buying further, much sought-after Rolex models. I have made use of this feature and to this day have rightfully claimed various models of 3,641 Rolexes currently worth 125%-150% over MSRP, and would like to thank the ADs for this reward. It is my understanding that the ADs' business practice contains this mechanism to promote decentralisation in retail sales and to increase market demand.

I am disappointed by those who are characterizing the use of this mechanism as "grey market profiteering". I am making use of this manufacturer-sanctioned retail mechanism as per the ADs' terms and conditions and my law firm has advised me that my action is fully compliant with United States criminal and tort law.

I hope this event becomes a valuable learning experience for the Rolex community and wish you all the best of luck.

Yours truly,
"The Pontiff"

A good and true bartender, one that can make a stranger feel at home in this world with nothing but his presence, a few polite words and a glass of fine spirit is someone who could have been anything he wanted to be, but the goodness of his heart and the nobility of his character had driven him to be a friend of his fellow men, as well as a connoisseur of spirits and a slayer of pussies.
See, I don't want cancer to get cured because few things in this earthly valley of sorrows give me greater joy than the thought and the reality of assorted filth like truck driving fucks and their ilk dying an agonizing death by colorectal cancer. Bartenders on the other hand, while not essential to life are essential to civilization, that is, a life worthy to be lived, something that you and the likes of you will likely never get to experience. Meh its over priced. I don't think they are that special.

Kinda sick of the special edition culture that seems to be everywhere now. There are like a billion special editions of everything all the time. None of them feel that special they are just editions.

They just feel like a flavour of the month fad. Pointless consumption of fast fashion and the planet is dying

It's hideous from the side, with that bezel that's only a mm thick. The strap looks good, then you realise it's one of those god awful clips instead of a proper clasp. The day/date window is just hideous, looks like a fucking receipt. Screws in the back instead of a proper caseback, and a fucking acrylic crystal that'll scratch to shit within a year.

If these don't bother you, it's alright, I guess. 38mm divers are hard to find for cheap. Personally, I'd just get an old Seiko 7546, they show up cheap from time to time, and you get a watch that's actually retro.

The love for Timex is 100% hype and reddit mob mentality. In their prime, they churned out the cheapest disposable shit possible. Now they are selling cheap shit but pretending they had any history to be proud of.
