The old ones didn't have the whole built-in strap thing, it was just a regular old-school one that slipped onto the arms of the glasses. The model number for them is 374 if you wanted an old pair. The weird thing about them though is the arms are weirdly short for such a big pair of sunglasses. I've seen other people complaining about the same thing. I have no idea about the new ones, though.

Yeah I'd just go with the new ones if you want to spend that much on them. No idea how often they do sales, but for Black Friday they did 30% off everything. Actually thought about copping a new pair to try but didn't do it.

I got the black polished one. Wanted to keep it simple. I was sort of on the fence because I think the originals look better, but the new ones suit my face better. They're not overly massive because they don't protrude on either side of my head, but my face is small and I'm not used to larger glasses.

The way the originals lean forward always made them look terrible on me. The ones in the pic are Vuarnet 1623s. They’re supposed to be a modern “interpretation” of the Magnum P.I. sunglasses. I’ve been wanting a pair other than my large frame Ray Bn aviators for a while but my head is massive so nothing fit. Then I realized Tom Selleck was massive so I looked up what glasses he wore in the show and ordered the closet thing.
I’d strongly suggest looking at them, Maui Jim, or Revo for your next pair, I’m trying to stay away from luxotica.
