Thank you! Basically I'm still trying to decide between that or the Avenger Blackbird, I like the look of the Blackbird more but I like the functions of the Aerospace more - it's perfect for a daily watch with everything relevant without going into the insane Casio features territory. There's a Blackbird chrono too but the design is all over the place, I think it goes too far towards some weird edgy mall goth boomer combination.

Im really concerned about the level of polish. Its just not going to blend in or be discreet. I currently have a SARX035 as my daily watch and just want a similar watch with a better movement.

Just get one of the right size from anywhere. Seiko won't have a sapphire crystal for a model that hasn't been made in 40 years. One thing though, that looks like it might have a G-type waterproof case that Seiko used a lot at the time. If it is, to swap the crystal you need a special die set for a press (or at least a die of exactly the righ diameter) that you use to first press out the bezel-crystal-retaining ring sandwich off the case from inside and then press the crystal off the bezel.

Somebody play devil’s advocate. Tell me not to buy to buy the Sumo and to get a bland looking Submariner homage like a Squale or Steinhart. Tell me that getting a Japanese watch is akin to watching moeshit anime. Somebody tell me that I should get a shitty GShock like a Mudman. Tell me that big watches are douchey and that I should get a lame looking Hamilton field watch. I need a devil’s advocate to tell me to get an F-91 while posting a picture of Osama bin Laden. >Seiko5 SNZG/ SNK
>$130 / $110
The SNZG comes in at 42mm, the SNK at 37
SNKZ is a field watch, SNK is a flieger actually, but much better for small wrists
both are powered by the 7s26, very basic auto-only no hack no handwind movement but gets the job done.
>San Martin SN030-G (San Martin Flieger)
>$150
The value king, sports a sapphire crystal, 200 WR, 39mm, hacking and handwinding NH35 inside. Has a sterile dial (4 choices) and very legible and clear numerals. This has the highest specs among this list, but design is generic.
>Timex Mk1 mechanical
>$150
Great traditional field size at 36mm, old school acrylic, ancient ST6 seagull handwind-only movement, zero date windows. This is a 100% classical field watch.
>Orient Defender
>$150
42mm, hacking, handwind, 100WR. It is big on the wrist visually, comes with subdials, and unlike most field watches it does not have 12 numerals, because orient is quirky like that.
>Vostok Kommasderkie (you might as well consider the Amphibias too)
>$80
a whole line of field watches, russian aesthetic. Big, chunky, unapologetic, kino. Old rugged movements, if it comes with a date they do not have quickset.
