My first frag
A nice delicate musk
Very creamy bergamot top that fades to a slightly peppery citrus
Looking for a signature scent that’s masculine but a bit delicate with grapefruit topnotes

the scent already has connotations, that's something some of you fail to understand. yes, Fahrenheit is hard to pull off by someone young, not because of the smell, but the associations people make when they smell it. It's a 90s classic that some people already associate with an image. wear it if you like it, I would wear anything I like but it doesn't change the fact that some fragrances are more appropriate to certain ages.

Fahrenheit in the 90s at least here in Europe was a scent extremely popular amongst teenagers and young adults.
I get that some people think some scents have "old man" associations (like old Guerlains and EdCs) but Fahrenheit is definitely not old enough for people to think that in my opinion.

And what I mean is just that if you have a scent that fits you and your style / energy, no one will bat an eye or think that you wear a perfume that smells "too mature" or whatever.

what is a good alternative to silver mountain water creed and an alternative for green irish tweed by creed?

>> No.15810503

Versace Pour Homme would be my choice from that list. Immense in the summer, and the tonka in the base helps it last a little longer, and doesn’t feel out of place in the colder months. None of them are perfect for the whole year, but I think that one is a good choice. I find the rest a little less versatile. Luna Rossa Carbon would be my second choice, but honestly if you’re only interested in buying one go for VPH.

Oh, sorry, I misread.

VPH - Summer (especially high heat)

ADG Profumo - This also works well in the summer, but only only cooler summer nights. I think this can work all year and it has good longevity. I favour it in the spring generally.

D&G The One is good for cooler weather and a classic “date” fragrance. However, longevity is poor. I feel like CH Men Prive may be one to try if you can get it as well for that kind of thing if you’re interested in future.

Luna Rossa Carbon is pretty good all around, absolutely not to my tastes, but it’s a good alternative to things like Sauvage.

La Nuit de L’Homme is an incredible scent and the only reason I don’t recommend it over The One is it doesn’t last long at all. YSL L’Homme is very pleasant, but again doesn’t last and doesn’t really do anything remarkable. Versace Eau Fraiche is really nice, but I prefer VPH. Eau Fraiche is much lighter and more “sparkly” but I don’t find it as interesting as VPH. 360 Red is fine, nothing wrong with it, nothing noteworthy either. Legend Spirit and Encre Noire sport I haven’t tried. Spicebomb is perfectly fine, but nothing special. Light Blue Intense is good but I find it a bit too sweet.

You guys have any opinions on Azzaro PH vs. Aramis Tuscany? I've seen many reviews mention that they're nearly identical to one another. While I've never smelled APH, I have a 100ml bottle of Tuscany and it's really grown on me over time after initially dismissing it as a horrible dry, musty lemon. I've worn it every day for the past week, and it's now my go-to after shower scent (longevity is pretty fucking terrible though). APH has been shilled to me as one of the greatest men's fragrances of all time, so I wanted to hear what you guys had to say on the matter. This is a bit of a longshot, but anyone know any frags that smell similar to Lush’s Blue Skies bubble bars? They’ve basically got this earthy, woody, spicy scent, it lists the main “notes” as patchouli, cinnamon, and frankincense. They’re not sweet, though, very earthy and spicy, very relaxing and meditative. Very zen sort of scent.

I’ve tried a ton of frags with similar-ish profiles, but nothing quite gets it. There’s always some sweetness, or some vanilla, or some citrus or something else that takes it away from where I want it to be. I just really wish I could find a frag that smells like this, because those bars are legitimately really good, and even Lush doesn’t seem to have anything else comparable.

I guess sort of, but Snicebomb is candy sweet with a lot of big spices, particularly cinnamon. Tuxedo is much more smooth and restrained, with the spices being much less loud, and it has that nice smooth patchouli. I mean, it’s like comparing a nice whiskey to a bottle of Fireball. I guess they’re sort of similar-ish in that they’re both whiskey, but I doubt too many people would say they taste the same.

>Are you familiar with many from those houses? The main reasons I want to try Profumum Roma are Acqua Di Sale and Ambre Aurea, but they seem like they do some interesting scents.
Yes, these are two of my favorites and I've tested plenty of their frags over the last few years since I've discovered the house. I own Acqua di Sale and gonna cop Ambra Aurea next year. I still got around 3ml left in my decant so it's not feasible to buy it now.
>Profumum Roma Patchouly
I like dark stuff but it's just too much for me. This brings the darkest, most earthy and complex aspects of patchouli that one typically knows only from its sweet (often complementing rose) facets. Probably the second most gothic Profumum Roma after Arso. 8/10
>Profumum Roma Orangea
Absolutely stunning green, citrusy fragrance. Very poor performance for Profumum Roma though but it's to be expected given that it's made of natural ingredients and citrus are fond of being very short lasting. 8/10
>Profumum Roma Ichnusa
This is the fig winner of today. Imagine the zesty greenness of Xerjoff Nio mixed with figs taken from Diptyque's Philosykos but both with more natural ingredients and better blended. You'll end up with Ichnusa. There's also some herbal-green dustiness to it coming perhaps from hay. I copped a roll-on. 10/10
>Profumum Roma Audace
Nice smooth vetiver, 7/10
>Profumum Roma Antico Caruso
Soft sillage, but I definitely could get wafts after 9h. Quite nice and smooth but not particularly remarkable 6/10
>Profumum Roma Dulcis in Fundo
Performance is ridiculous. Both of my Uber drivers on the night I was testing it had to open windows despite wearing 2 sprays (and every full spray makes me choke on the moment of applications). It's so concentrated it also leaves trails on shirts. Very creamy, feminine drydown, 8/10

>> No.15811542

>>15811538
>Profumum Roma Acqua e Zucchero
More masculine and interesting than Dulcis in Fundo thanks to forest fruits. Not as creamy drydown as Dulcis in Fundo but as good vanilla-wise. 9/10
>Profumum Roma Dambrosia
It's alright fruity salad. Profumum accurately puts classical pictures of cornucopia on their marketing materials for Dambrosia. Heavy on figs but a bit too baroque-ish. There's too much happening here and I'm actually surprised that it's a Profumum Roma's fragrance. They're typically very minimalist with their means of expressions and you can't count more than 4 ingredients in their note breakdowns. 7/10
>Profumum Roma Arso
Imagine a pine forest that got burned down entirely. That's the smell day after. Austere smokey woody scent. Absolutely amazing stuff. 9/10
>Profumum Roma Acqua di Sale
The most realistic sea smell I've tried (and I tested many aquatics). You don't get here simply the salted water smell. You get it together with seaweed (with some camphor quality that some people don't like) and all of other nuances. The performance, like with most of PRs, is amazing. I get easily 8h+ of projection. 10/10
>Profumum Roma Acqua Viva
I remember testing it in Jovoy, Mayfair, Their official notes breakdown was:
>head: lemon
>heart: lemon
>base: lemon
and they were not wrong because it is basically a lemon soliflore. Imagine taking the most juicy lemon freshly out of a tree during a long summer somewhere at Amalfi coast in Italy and then scratching its skin with your nail. That's how Acqua Viva smells like. However, the more you smell the more slight nuances your nose pick up. There are definitely some woody and green undertones to it. Sadly, just like with Orangea the performance is moderate. 9/10

>> No.15811547

>>15811542
>Profumum Roma Ambra Aurea
When I got it, I was expecting an animalic monstrous ambegris bomb that will not be wearable based on what people were saying about it but to my nose it's quite different than that. What I get for the first 30minutes is actually ambery leather (ambery as in amber not ambegris). It's really snice and balanced, not reeking at all. I can also get incense, that together with amber gives it a bit of sweet edge, and some smooth labdanum with its more powdery facets. At this stage it reminds me a lot of Tauer Lonestar Memories and I was actually surprised how much its note breakdown is more accurate to what I get than Ambra Aurea's one on fragratica. That being said I think it's way better than Tauer and having certain edge making it stand out unlike Lonestar Memories that in my opinion is quite an unremarkable leather thingy. After 30 minutes I can start getting some saltiness which is the first omen of Ambra Aurea turning into an ambegris fragrance that I expected it to be. Vanilla-like sweetness comes out soon after and it starts reminding Ambre Lumiere a bit. After the first hour my mind is bouncing back and forth between amber and ambegris and I think that Ambra Aurea is actually a mix of both. Overall it's the best amber fragrance I've tried. 10/10
>Profumum Roma Olibanum
Breathtaking fresh (!) incense. 9/10
>Profumum Roma Fumidus
It goes without saying that Profumum Roma mastered smoky fragrances in all incarnations. Here you get a realistic smoky, peaty single malt whisky. 8/10
>Profumum Roma Sorriso
Profumum Roma's vanilla as known from Dulcis in Fundo meets chocolate and they have a child. Probs the best chocolate fragrance I put my nose on but it leans feminine. 8/10

Be sure to pop in to Jovoy if you can after all of this shitshow with Corona is over. They're incredibly helpful and friendly. Every time I was around Mayfair, London I tried to pay them a visit. They've got a full range of PR and will shower you with samples for free. I think on two occasions I walked out with 10-20 samples without buying anything. I had been literally telling them that it's enough and they threw couple extra samples anyways hah.

Very good choices. It's such a pity that Bloom changed their sample policy and now they charge some ridiculous amounts for tiny samples. Remember to pop in to Harrods in Knightsbridge. I had one of the lovelies /frag/-trips there with a girl I used to hook up with. Both the ground floor perfume section and the Roja's boutique on the last floor where you have all the most ridiculously expensive brands are worth visiting. God, I miss London and all of the lovely places there. I really hope it's not gonna go to hell after Brexit and Corona.

I actually like summer more for perfumes, feels like they show their true colors in heat and you can really DOUSE yourself because you're going to change all of your clothes the next day anyway. In the winter if you get some on your jacket or something it'll smell like that for a really long time so I don't spray as liberally.

BdJ is a masterpiece “nu-gere,” APH is a reformulated classic.
I personally do not see that APH=RGPH=BdJ. For starters, TF Fougere d’Argent is much closer to RGPH than BdJ. The latter is also a very good and I do not find it redundant. Although they are similar, BdJ and FdA, they are similar like two different song of the same performer with a distinctive style. You should try BdJ and FdA for sure.

Everything I read is "based, based, based, cringe based, cringe, based", can't you think of something else? can't you come up with something else? It feels like I was talking to people with some kind of dementia and all they know to do is repeating the same fucking words in a loop. BASED ON WHAT??? ON THE BIBLE? ON THE DICTIONARY? ON MY HAIRY ASS? Oh, shut the fuck up, is like you can't write a single coherent text without using one of those overused and retarded words that lost all their meaning through time. "BASED BASED BASED CRINGE CRINGE KEK REDPILLED CRINGE KEK". FUCK OFF. Fucking moron, bitch, idiot, little shit.

Because listening to female fragrance reviewers is just pure garbage. She thinks she is the center of the universe so if she likes it and has an opinion of it, then it must be universally correct. This is further self verified by her and ingrained into her by the validation of the horny desperate losers who post comments telling her she is 100% right.

Bro I have to smell MASCULINE. I can’t have the slightest sign of femininity in my fragrances because then people will think I’m gay or something (which I totally am not hahaha). It’s just that I am an ALPHA CHAD SEX HAVER and I need to be 100% manly at all times. No insecurity here nope just pure testosterone

A guy in a perfume group I'm in posts all the time about how he hates any perfume that has flowers in it and that he hates citrus and whatever. One of his favorites is Fahrenheit and idk who's gonna tell him violet is a flower

I got a sample of MKK, its not near what its memed up to be. I know its been reformulated, but still. Its like walking into a clean public bathroom, kinda like a diaper or a wetwipe, but with a pissy undertone. I put it on skin, its a kinda light floral feel, with that public bathroom smell, very light all around. Nowhere near as bad as salome, I havent been able to put that on skin at all yet. Its straight up piss smell and urinal cake from the nozzle for me.

What’s the best fragrance that I can get a duty free? I am flying (domestically) in a week and I need a manly/fucboi smell that is less than 150€, that last a decent time and is strong enough that people near can smell it.

Please tell me :)
Thanks

how close is aspen by coty and cool water by davidoff and Verbena Fields by PARFUMS VINTAGE to green irish tweed by creed?

I've never smelled GIT but I do own Aspen and Emerald Isle, and have a sample of Verbena Fields. Aspen is nice but cheap smelling, Emerald Isle is great, smells better than Verbena Fields.

So I saw people suggesting to buy samples from the inner circle of the beginner's fragrance flowchart >>15808457, but I wasn't able to find a site that even came close to letting me order a bunch of specific samples because none had the ones I wanted. Do I have to buy them all in different places or am I looking at the wrong sites? Any other advise for getting started? I was just going to buy a bunch of samples to see what direction might fit me and to find a go to fragrance in the longrun like that.
