I think I'm going to take DA pill. Just switched my major from comp sci to philosophy at an ivy after realizing I want to study something I would actually enjoy and not just become another SWE for the money. I've been living on my own with only 10k/year of costs at max, so a 6 figure salary in tech doesn't seem necessary to me anymore. I hope to get into academia even if I know it's probably a long shot. I've just realized making 20k vs 200k in my life really would make no difference to me, so I might as well study something I actually like and go for something greater. Also I get to wear DA which is a plus.
