moisturize w oils instead of lotion, almond oil is pretty cheap and works well
try dry brushing or gua shua, it really helps with bloodflow, make sure you get something w natural material though dont fall for anything plastic, glass, or synthetic
you can try fake tan if youre really desperate, but taking good care of your skin and health is all you really need

Why is everyone only talking about skin? I want to know how to make my hair look better.
For example, I wonder how people in metal, like here
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkvGvJFq-04
manage to keep good hair doing concerts and headbanging all the time. If I get sweaty frequently, and thus need to shampoo my hair, it dries a lot. And it gets really tangled if I headbang a lot. Sure, it's wavy, but that bass player's hair is much more coiled than mine and doesn't seem to face that issue.
So the question is: how the hell do I make it look good constantly with a routine that forces me to shampoo it all the time?
And it goes beyond that, really. I used quarantine to only shampoo it once a week for months, and while it does produce less oils now that doesn't mean it's fit to go out into the world unless it has been at most 2 days since I washed it.

You need to be using conditioner if you’re shampooing that much. You can also apply aloe vera, coconut oil, or a vitamin E oil to your dry hair as needed; you can usually find that stuff in the ethnic hair care sections.

Don’t shampoo frequently, once a week at most, do use conditioner daily, it’s like moisturiser for your hair

>> No.15767405

>>15767301
Like I said, I've already been shampooing only once per week for a couple months now and I know for sure I wouldn't be able to keep this up if not for quarantine. If, say, I shampoo it sunday, by thursday it already starts getting oily, and that's taking care not to do anything particularly sweaty, like running. I'm sure if I used conditioner daily, instead of only when I shampoo, this effect would be even stronger. So the question remains how those very active people manage to have good hair.
If I did something like a concert and sweated a lot then I would have no option but to shampoo it afterwards, which is why before quarantine I was shampooing it 4 times a week. I needed to look presentable on a daily basis while doing stuff that would require washing.

Ignore the anon telling you to shampoo once a week, it does work for them but its not something that is good for all hair types. It might work for you but most likely it won't.

The best way to develop a hair care routine is to ask a HAIRDRESSER or SALONIST what type of hair you have. If you have fine hair like mine you need to shampoo like every other day, if you have more coarse hair you will find you need to shampoo less often and can lessen the frequency of washes by occassionally using dry shampoo.

No matter what hair type you have, these will help you, ALWAYS CONDITION YOUR ENDS WHEN YOU WASH NO EXCEPTIONS AND LEAVE THAT SHIT IN YOUR HAIR FOR AT LEAST TWO MINUTES.

Hair masks are awesome and are almost always beneficial if done once a week.

Argan oil from morrocco is a must as well but ONLY USE ON DAMP HAIR.

Lastly detangle the ends when your hair is dry, focus on the ends near the shoulders and back. Make sure you're only focusing on the ends and be gentle so as to not rip hair out. Get a trim at least every 3 months to get rid of split ends and avoid breakages.

You should see noticeable results within a week if you follow these tips.

I’m the anon that said once a week was good for shampoo, I have fine straight hair and shampoo makes it incredibly dry/fuzzy, conditioning almost daily adds to volume and makes it appear healthier and it responds better to styling, I guess we are all different finding out what works for each individual person is the important part, experimenting should be encouraged

I forgot to mention; y'all are using good shampoo right? If not already, look for silicone, alcohol and paraben free shampoo with lots of natural oils like aloe vera and coconut etc. Same goes for conditioner as well.

Also nake sure you only massage the shampoo into the scalp. If you apply it to your whole hair it will dry out like you have described. Dry shampoo is a good investment for when your hair becomes to oily, you can add volume without drying out your hair too much.

Crazy thing is though that despite the schwarzenkopf leave in conditioner being full of chemicals it does wonders for fine hair.

Good luck hope this helps.

>ALWAYS CONDITION YOUR ENDS WHEN YOU WASH NO EXCEPTIONS AND LEAVE THAT SHIT IN YOUR HAIR FOR AT LEAST TWO MINUTES
Well, I already do that every time I shampoo and it doesn't seem to make much of a difference, so I guess there's some other issue.

>Hair masks are awesome and are almost always beneficial if done once a week.
>Argan oil from morrocco is a must as well but ONLY USE ON DAMP HAIR.
Seems like a lot of work, I was hoping to avoid relying on a bunch of products. People haven't always used these fancy things, there must be alternatives.

>Lastly detangle the ends when your hair is dry, focus on the ends near the shoulders and back. Make sure you're only focusing on the ends and be gentle so as to not rip hair out. Get a trim at least every 3 months to get rid of split ends and avoid breakages.
After drying it with a towel I just leave it there and brush about 2 hours before bed, when it's already dry, is that what you're talking about? Mine isn't that long to focus so much on the ends anyway, it's a bit past shoulder length but only because the last trim I had was in March (those other issues I mentioned are also present with regular trimming, however, which is why I didn't find it worth mentioning).

>be gentle
I might be at fault in this but at the same time I'm not sure in what other way I could brush it. I simply slide the brush through it, starting at the scalp, and grab any loose hairs with my other hand at the end of that brush movement, but I do it more or less fast, not gently. If the brush finds some tangled obstacle I just power through it, and if that's not possible I detangle it with my hand and then proceed as before.

>>15767729
It can be a hassle finding specific shampoos like that around here, but I know it's the right thing to do.

>Also nake sure you only massage the shampoo into the scalp.
There's something.
>Dry shampoo
I've heard of it before but was skeptical, I'll give it a try if the other changes don't make a difference.

I shampoo and condition once a week one after another and find my hair takes like a couple of days after to get a nice ‘oilyness’ to where it holds my hair product well and can be styled properly. What am I doing wrong? Should I condition more often and shampoo less frequently?

Get your heart rate up and spend time really sweating. Increases blood flow to skin (vibrant color) and helps flush dirt/oil out of your pores (esp after showering)

Used to live in Satan's Oven, South Carolina. I'd get back from runs on summer days, shower off and my skin would feel godlike and legitimately glow. Put some color in ya cheeks, son.
