This is a good start. I've been in the market for better pants as well and it seems like you'll have to be ready to pay more. Buy unhemmed and get your stuff tailored unless you're willing to roll the dice on online pants.

i have quite a few pairs of high waisted pants, the trick is to buy trousers that are a little big bigger.

So if I'm a size 30-32 i might buy a size 34 and clinch it in with a belt, and because there is more fabric to work with it gives off that high waist look.

>> No.15759731

>>15759727
No, that's not it at all. Inseam length and pants rise are not the same thing at all.
Buying pants with a longer inseam and bringong up to your belly button will just make you look like and doofus.
It's all about cuts, anon.

And by the way, with a higher rise you can make do with a shorter inseam, because you have more fabric to work with.

I sort of get what you are saying with the whole inseam length point, but idk man it works for me.

I get what you are saying that it can make me look a bit like a 'doofus' or 'girly', but I like the oversized look, especially paired with something like a t-shirt and party shirt.

but I definitely agree with the fact the bunched up fabric can get annoying, I have to fuck around with it every time I put a pair on.

sorry about the mirror its really filthy.

I sort of just took basic pics so you could see how the pants fit rather than what they'd look like when you wear everything with them (boots, cardigans, sweaters, etc.)

Also, all of them are a tapered fit, if you were to buy straight leg they would obviously look wider like in OP's pic.

You cant really see the black ones properly, but they look better in person (in my opinion anyway you might think they look dogshit idk)

I know /fa/ isn't really a fan of the whole cuffing/ankle showing thing, but you don't have to buy them like that, the fits would be the same I feel if they were full length.

The plaid ones on the right I just bought yesterday and i think i need to play around with them a bit, because in that pic they give a diaper butt effect, which looks shit.

Also, whilst I haven't bought from these sites they do offer really good looking and quality trousers.

They are women's, but the idea behind the fits is its men's clothing for women, so just message them asking what size they would recommend for you based on your dimensions.

I wouldn't call them my fits, because I wouldn't dress like that. I would have other pieces to compliment what I'm wearing rather than a wrinkled white tee. The idea of the pic was so the other dude could see what the pants are like.

Also, even if I was wearing the exact same thing as her in the second pic, it still wouldn't look as good because:
(a) I'm not an Instagram model
and
(b) I didn't pose and take a thousand pictures under nice lighting.

This is awful advice. If you want high-waisted pants you buy pants in your size that supposed to sit higher on the waist. There's no reason to compromise with sizing or "tricks", you just get pants that are cut to be high-waisted. The excess fabric will make you clownlike or make your proportions seem off.

>> No.15764807

I think your perspective on how to achieve this look is a bit mislead. Maybe you can size up for a bit of extra rise and bundling the excess fabric with a belt, but the simpler and more sensible solution is to buy pants meant to fit that way in the first place without compromising on other dimensions of the pants. If you're looking for more fabric around the hips, then pleated pants will do that. I just don't get lengthening the inseam to achieve higher rise. You end up with loose fabric at the hem and suffocating your dick trying to hoist up pants that aren't designed to go that high.

>>15764779

I get that you're saying that it works for you and that 's why you stick to it btw, which is fine. I just wouldn't give it out as general advice because it certainly isn't going to work for all (or even most) people, and either way it's a roundabout solution to something that didn't need one.

He doesn't size up the inseam, he gets larger waist size because larger sizes have longer rises. Personally I think having a big bunched up waist looks dumb but it is popular with the eboy look that he seems to follow.

>>15764831
Oh I guess you're right. When he said "I'm a size 30-32 and size up to 34" I didn't expect that to mean he goes FOUR inches up on the waist. I just noticed his pics, idk if it's the balance between the taper and waist or what but it looks exaggerated.

I get what both of you are saying now, and I actually think you are right.

I went and measured the rise of each of the pairs that I have and compared to some of my normal pairs of jeans, and they had a much higher rise.

I just attributed it to the fact that they were much larger in size, because I'm a moron.

The pants in this pic aren't very bunched up, they're probably not more than an inch too big which is reasonable if you tend to gain and lose a little weight.

its just where the top of the pants sits along your body.
By having a different rise it changes the the form of the fit, and a higher rise brings more attention to that region.
