ITT discuss applications of military surplus clothing for fashion
pic related is my main jacket, looks pretty sleek with some levis and boots, has a manly look without making you look full autist.
>my rule
my rule is to only wear one milsurp item at a time to avoid looking autistic or like a terrorist. of course if I wear combat pants I'll wear boots too, but my jackets can go with anything. in general I don't wear tacticool shit but I'll wear an old jacket once in a while

>> No.15744701

>>15744681
I think jackets are the thing you have to be most careful to not go full spaghetti with when wearing milsurp. Combat pants and tacticool bags have been copied by urban/streetwear fashion brands so much that people in cities hardly associate them with the military at all anymore.

I love going to the military surplus/camping store out in the countryside where I live, and I buy tons of autistic/uncommon looking cheap jackets there every time I go. I always chill in them when I'm just chilling working around the house or going on some /out/ings, but would never wear them or even bring them to the city where I study and work.

I only wear 30+ year old camo so there's literally no chance of being "called out"
also I live near rural areas and everyone wears camo. if you're wearing full OCP or MARPAT then obviously people will ask questions but for the most part no one gives a shit

I copped this for about $30 from a local surplus store (I live right off of a base, so not uncommon). I’m just trying to figure out how to style it.

Would brown cords/chinos give an overly tree-like appearance? And would it look a little too autistic in an area where deer-hunting camo is much more common?

>> No.15744845

Gonna assume you live in Wyoming or something, in which case you can go full tree man as you please. I'd think that the full brown would be a bit weird in like super urban areas though

You should, it's wrong, it just doesn't have anything to do with wearing insignia-free milsurp that isn't current issue.
