Seriously though, if you mean visually it's pretty obvious. Musically the rivethead scene has lots of aggrotech.

But most teens who first get into the scene tend to wear black boots, pants, jacket or whatever and visually fit into the rivethead aesthetic even if they do not listen to the music.

Even a metal head in black pants, leather jacket and chains can cross over into a rivethead look so I would really say rivethead is some kind of base standard in goth, especially those new to the scene before they branch out into other areas such as fangs and a pirate shirt.

I've seen this shit in the 90s before you were even born. Goth has its roots in the punk movement and is primarily music based but the aesthetic of the scene has many sub genres with the "traditional goth" being only a part of it. "Mallgoth" is totally different and can be akin to babybats, but the aesthetic is certainly not rivetheads or cybergoths etc.

But even that is too simplistic because goth is not a uniform which you are purporting it to be. This is why simply wearing a "goth uniform" is not goth, and it's why these poseurs stick out so badly at any event.

In short: This means you. You'd be laughed out of a venue.

"Trad goths" for the most part will even refer to themselves as trad if asked. You're equating for an example a 15 year old who dresses in the 80s goth aesthetic as some true pure form of goth and that's what makes them so. Which tells me you have zero idea what goth is really about.
