15727942 No.15727942 [Reply] [Original]

I'll start: Would wearing pants and shoes of the same color look dumb? It's an idea I really like for a specific fit, but I'm not sure if it would look bad or dumb based off of color theory. Here are the pants, and shoes can be posted if requested.

>> No.15727984

>>15727942
it would look dumb bro. unless it was white pants and white shoes and it was a white party.

now tell me. what color would be the socks?

>> No.15727998

>>15727984
maybe, but i think i'll try it all the same. and i've often been told to match the color of the socks to the pants, but in this case i don't own cream-colored socks, so i'd probably try a navy.

I just got my first bomber and I have literally no idea what to wear with it other than all black
I look up bomber inspo and the only thing I see is 2012 shit with longline tees and ripped jeans and boring menswear fits, so what pairs well with a black bomber that isnt boring

i feel like a pair of cream-colored jeans is pretty easy to work with, so i'm not worried about that aspect, but the main idea i had at first was something like a deep navy tee, not sure about the fit of it.

Not the best rule. Matching the brightness in your bottom half shows a more conservative taste. Think navy chinos or dress pants with dark brown boots or dress shoes. Black jeans with black sneakers/boots. Also, this makes more sense for darker months like fall and winter. For summer, I feel making all your pieces more lighter also is a common approach. White sneakers with light blue shorts just screams summer.

Also my QTDDTOT: What do you guys think of five-pocket pants. I've been considering them since I feel chinos are usually too formal in my life and the work I do. Thinking of transitioning, but was wondering if anyone else really wears it and would recommend it. Unsure if it's just a weird in-between for chinos and jeans.

what are the best ways of hiding thin forearms/wrists and small hands? I don't know anything about clothes. what kind of jumpers/shirts should I wear? will wrist accessories make it more or less noticeable? are there any plastic surgeries? should I shave my arms?

From experience I feel a lot less embarrassed with oversized sleeves, but there are still problems if the fabric is loose and tends to cling to my forearms. It might be hard to tell in pic how bad it is, but I have very small hands, like the size of a 10 year old girl's hands. the wrist is about 2inches across.

fellas, i need help. i live in cold climate and i have a black coat i wear in winter (like picrelated). currently i only own blue and light blue jeans. i was thinking of buying a pair of black jeans too. i'm looking to make an outfit that is not dressy but not casual either, something in the middle of formality spectrum, slightly under business casual.
now the question: what sort of shoes do i wear with my outfit? should i go for black or blue/light blue jeans, and what color shoes should i get? ideally for fall/winter but it if its just winter its fine.

Hi,
I have an old oversized leather jacket from my late dad. Like 35 years old.
It's sheepskin, quite comfy and all.
BUT It's ubersized, like it's an XXL and i'm usually wearing L sized stuff. And my dad was smaller than me, I don't understand why he got that size.

Questions are:
How are these supposed to fit?
Does it look funny on me?
Should i keep it?

Hey bros I'm at a bit of loss here and could really use some outside opinions. Pictured here is the same jacket on different models in different sizes. Because I'm 185/ 6"1 I tend to sit between M and L on most things but they don't sell this jacket locally anymore meaning I cant try it on.

The model on the left is wearing a size M
The model on the right is wearing a size L

Both are basically the same height and weight, which matches mine as well. I'm leaning more towards the right pic because although the jacket is already made in a relaxed style, the stacking and looser feel in the right pic seems more up my alley.

What do you anons suggest?

Anyone have experience with shopping addiction? Since I downloaded poshmark ~5 months ago I can't stop spending. I've made around $1500 on the website selling and have spent it all & more on my own purchases. I was looking at a black friday sale to buy some christmas presents & I looked at my bank balance and I literally have $3 in savings.

I know I need to just get myself off poshmark but at the moment it's my only income so I need to log on multiple times a day to share my items. I'm thinking I won't buy anything for a month and then try to limit myself to one purchase a month? Is that still too much?

If you want a moto leather jacket, try straight to hell apperal. They have decent sizing for a price that won't break your bank.also their holiday sale is now.

navy and grey are good yes. take burgundy if it fits your hair, p good for fall/winter and pairs well with tan colors. same with olive. muted brown for more conservative/mature look. if you want something more original and different, try orange, mustard, violet or red.
tan chinos with sweater is a classic combo, they go with most colors. olive goes well with blue/navy and brown/tan, but is harder to pair with everything else.

Ive been wearing Superstars for the better part of 5 years
I'm looking for a shoe to cover basically the same role of casual and comfortable, but look good enough to be worn in almost every situation
I've been looking into other Adidas offerings like the Daily 3.0 and Gazelle
Also the Puma Romas
Wondered if anyone knew of anything I should be considering

This is the least helpful way to ask this question. What is your current dress style? Why do you want leather shoes? When will you wear said shoes? Where do you live? What is the climate like? Please provide just any little bit of context.

>>15752898
Fuck no. Denim jackets are one of the most common and basic styles. Just don't get something with an obnoxious wash.

>>15754093
Natural fibers are more labor intensive to produce than synthetics and blends. I don't think cotton belongs in a category with wool though because outside of particular luxury cottons like Sea Island, cotton is a cheap garbage material.

Cotton is cheap to produce because it is a crop that you can plant a fuckton of, it grows easily, and you can harvest and process it by machine. Cotton is not especially durable, is flammable, is not warm, does not regulate body heat, takes a long time to dry, and will not keep you warm when wet.

Wool comes from animals that take up space, require food, water, and shelter, shit everywhere, and must be shorn by hand. Wool is naturally heat regulating because it wicks away moisture from the body and the loose density of wool is breathable and creates tiny air pockets that allow said air to either be warmed by the body or let out into the surroundings. Wool is very durable, naturally flame retardant, quite warm, and keeps you warm even when wet.

By and large natural materials are better because they're designed by nature to survive in nature. There are synthetic materials that are better than natural ones in some regards but not many.

There's not a whole lot of overlap between casual and formal footwear even with regard to leather shoes. Blutchers are casual and balmorals are formal. If you really want to split the difference I guess I'd recommend a nice pair of oxfords. The closed lacing lends a fancier air but without the formality of a whole cut balmoral.

(Winter) boot sock recommendation?
Most of mine get stretched out instantly after putting them on (even as i get ready in the morning before i put on boots) and start slipping when i walk. My normal socks either slip down or just rub holes at the ankles.

Im currently using Adidas soccer knee highs as theyre the only ones that dont slip for me but as theyre OTK, it feels weird wearing under jeans/pants. Not to mention theyre bright red and neon and theyre meant to keep your feet from sweating so they feel thinner in the foot part and dont seem to keep my feet as warm as other socks.

If we're talking short-sleeve shirts with elaborate designs:
Wearing a shirt with more personality than yourself. Also, neglecting the rest of your fit in a way that makes the shirt stand out too much. IMO best way to wear is just to sub it in a fit where normally one would wear a boring hawaiian shirt. In summer with shorts, in other seasons you could wear this to parties.

I do agree with what you said about wool's properties but wool itself isn't that expensive and cotton can be a very versatile fabric with different properties and can't really be beat in terms of abrasion resistance. You can weave it tight like ventile and make it waterproof or atleast water resistant or you can brush it and make it warm like cotton flannel or you can make duck, moleskin or gabardine which all are very durable and won't get punctured or teared like synthtetics.

Not super helpful as i dont have personal experience with the basic ones just the collab versions such as the kaw sesame street.
The kaws one is good for layering but its not thick by any means. Its also the terry cloth back not fleece.
But with uniqlo i would always check reviews. Ive noticed the US site seems to give a lot of freebies for reviews (which is stated under the name of the reviewer) which seems can be misleading so i also check the singapore, uk and australian reviews as theyre also in english. Everyone seems to liek the sweats on the australian page but they are mostly females buying them because theyre longer. Someone also mentioned its the terry cloth like back not fleece. One mentioned its great for layering so its probably not as thick as champion or nike sweats.

Im pretty sure Sears went under everywhere but i almost always got my sweats at Sears from Champion brand. Im not sure if the quality if lower because its always around $20-25 bucks. They do have small logos usually the same color as the sweats though if thats a bother to you. I have no idea if quality changed as i havent bought any in years.
