Holy shit. Knowing this now it makes it even funnier. Fucking swiss trash. I like the looks a lot but it does not look like even close to a finishing level that would be worth it. They also did a limited edit of the left one, the smaller one. 69 pieces...fucks sake, these pricks know exactly what they are doing. The watch looks better in the smaller.

Thank you very much for your info about the GuB. We have them here on kraut-bay. So if that itch does not go away, i'll get one of them.

Can someone explain to me why quartz watches have all these neat things on the dial that are usually considered the absolute pinnacle of dial finishing on mechanical watches, but it's just 'le mall shitter design that doesn't matter ' on a quartz watch? Like, you have to pay a billion $$$ for a mechanical watch that just has basic concentric circles on subdials, meanwhile every quartz mall shitter has it?

it's a casio homage. But it ain't any worse in my view. I have some real casios, but those are solar and atomic(you can't get a skmei with those features). But these simple classic digitals, why should I pay 5-10x for the same thing?

>> No.15714087

>>15714081
It's a genuine question, you have to get into like $50k territory to get an interesting looking dial with a mechanical watch (like Lange or Journe for example) and they're a staple on quartz watches, is this just intentional market segregation?

I have no idea. But if you buy an ST19 watch, make sure it's one of the more reputable brands. For chink watches, seagull is the one that makes the ST19. HKED (hong kong) is also liked. If you see some other chinkshit you want for some reason, ask. Western or "western" microbrands, just google for their qc in general and that will tell you all you need to know.

>> No.15714103

>>15714096
How exactly does that have anything to do with dial design? I'm not talking about complications. Do you believe the Swiss cave dwarves have to carve the subdials out with their toenails so they have to wait until they grow back for every concentric groove?

>> No.15714106

>>15714077
The quart ones just have the mass production version of the dial details. The luxury trash has stuff often done the old fashioned way. Of course that is better but the also use these tricks to inflate working hours on a watch and inflate prices.

But often details differ very little and the mall shitter is just a sensible choice.
>>15714087
What kind of detail do you mean, would like to see an expample. But not to undermine your statement. It really is done on purpose to use any opportunity to up the price and offer something interesting and emotional to the luxury customer.

That's not the question again, why can't you people read?

The question is why the watches in the "entry-mid range luxury" i.e. $5-10k mostly have boring simple dials with barely even applied indices, much less anything else. Whereas the quartzes have interesting shit (but according to you low quality somehow), and the $10000000000b watches also have it (according to you very high quality, let's post all those Patek and GS pics of untouched stamped shit eh?). So why is there this price range where this shit just disappears?

Because the tacky finish you get on a 100 shitter doesnt belong on a decent watch. If they cant do it properly they wont do it at all.

They are plenty of other dial finishes that can be done and done well that dont require you to press some shitty pseudo Guilloché effect into a watch costing a few thousand.

Surely that's fucking obvious.

I agree, since it makes precise measurments easier. 16cm is better than 6.25 inch. But as with most retarded things that we use today, the reason is 'because it's widespread', especially in the western world. Even europoors use imperial a lot more than asian countries. When I visited Korea they used metric for everything, even height and weight.

Also they consider 180cm like the 6ft for us. Humans like clean numbers, not the value itself.

Which real watch is the least flashy?
I want a good and pricy watch ($5000+).

I like the rolex oyster rhodium a lot, but its too recognizable. I bought a JLC (pic related) but I've gotten so many bad comments about it (my waste of money, that JLC is a shit brand (???), that I'm an idiot for buying it, etc)

Is there any watch that doesn't garner a bunch of bad attention?

The casio will need only battery changes. There are def. modules of casios and parts sold online, just need to know what to look for. But if you can't find parts, it's unlikely that you will be doing the repairs if the casio has some fault in maybe 30 years.
Look at vintage digital analog casios sold online, they are still working sometimes, even 40 year old ones. Seiko is also solid but looks boring, imo.

What do you think of these? The big numbers are just lovely for me. The green one is my fav.

I bought my second watch few months ago.
A CCCP beauty, never worn and revised.
I have the original bracelet with not a wrinkle but I changed it for a milanese mesh. What do you think /fa/ ?
