That's what I do, only I also use some sea salt spray to tighten up my curls as my hair is longer. When you're at the part of loosening the dried product, you can also use a tiny tiny bit of coconut oil that you spread beween your hands. Gives additional shine and prevents some of the frizzing while going through the hair.

You have to let your hair get dirty (oily) Then when it becomes too much douse in cold water and run a fine tooth comb to get excess dirt out and also spread natural oils evenly across your curls. Let dry and it will look great without product.

If you someone who NEEDS to have cleaner hair try doing Conditioner washes. Try to stay away from heavy product and shampoo or gels.

when you shower, you lather it up in your hair first thing and leave it in while you wash the rest of yourself, and wash it out last.

Personally this by itself is enough for me. i use it once every two or three days. i can typically tell when i need to shampoo again. If your hair gets excessively dry or frizzy, there are other treatments you can use but i don't know about that because this fixes my flakes, texture volume problems by itself.
