Yeah he was banned for being shitty towards more experienced people in DIY that were trying to give him advice. I remember him making thread after thread with badly laid out formula lists (mislabelling, not mentioning important things such as if a material was pure or diluted), and whenever someone tried to give him advice he would always find a way to snub it, and in other cases get catty with them under a veneer of friendliness and ":-)".

Looks like he made a success of copying barebones formulas he found online, but given the fact he lets a pet roam free in his "lab", and never really tried to learn some basics even the most novice hobbyists learned from DIY, I'd give his stuff a miss. Plus there were reports on bad QC.

Another case of an indie trying to score from the vintage crowd, with a lucky hit or two at best. But no doubt the hype beasts will turn him in to a revered "master perfumer" a la Bortnikoff/Areej/Ensar soon.

Never thought about this before. I like Claude, he's very engaged with customer service, and I definitely believe him more than someone with TDS. Especially so since he even posted a vapor spectrum analysis or whatever it's called of the perfume. To be fair though it is definitely a different color now.

I ordered Chypre Palatin a couple weeks ago, I was kinda disappointed to learn that the "buy the bust version get two sample sets" deal was over but he explained that it was too good of a deal for distributors to compete with, so it's alright. Still getting 60ml free is pretty great.

She already has a history of falling out with another perfume maker for an unknown reason and scrubbing out all the reviews they made on his stuff, but has the gall to keep a phrase he used a lot "Iso E Supercrappy". Yes, the sweet caramel is gets quite strong on my skin and sadly overshadows realistic woods because it's such a likable notes. I'd much prefer it to be more austere wood scent not a woody-gourmand. The opening is great though and I can see why it won A+O award.

So today I wanted to give a try to Arabian Perfume Oil copy of Oud Wood that I bought a sample long time ago after it was talked by the Arab clone anon in this thread and since then has been only gathering dust on my shelf.. I've sniffed ca. 1000 frags and this thing jumped in top 5 frags with the most personality I tried. The opening smells like being closed in a cage in zoo full of exotic large cats that sprayed themselves with Chanel Egoiste - the animalic cat note is dominant but you get some lemony-spicy-woody nuances. Soon after the note of damp soil as known from the OG Zootopian Bat takes over but you still get this absolutely unique animalic note and sweet geranium smoothens the smell making it an actual perfume not just a conceptual smell. This is the thing that I love about this smell. Despite being absolutely unique and having tons of personality it still remains a perfume in the first place, not an experiment or a technical showcase of skills of a perfumer. This is absolutely signature worthy for an eccentric or a person with a very strong personality who wants to make sure that they are going to be noticed from the very first second they enter the room and remembered for long.)

I have a question if anyone would be able to help. I use Chanel de Bleu parfum, and I'm looking into a good soap to use with it that doesnt have many chemicals because of a case of Keratosis Pillaris on my arms. I think I've read that a scentless soap works well because Chanel has a very unique and strong scent as it is, but I've also heard that using soaps with similar smells also works well. My brother recommended a brand called Dr. Squatch to me and apparently its made of natural stuff and its got a cedar and orange soap variety. Can anyone give me some insight?

They are very different scents for sure, I'd only recommend MAAI if you're already a big fan of Kouros / Chypres. Goes without saying, sample before you buy a bottle

Bought YSL La Nuit De L'Homme and it smells amazing. I even wear it around the house because I just love how it smells.

Chanel Egoiste on the other hand smells pretty underwhelming, like cheap colonge.
