i believe you look just the same, but are not accustomed seeing yourself "mirrored" in real life. Take a picture of a person you know and compare the picture normal and mirrored, looks the same.

no because also i look like shit on camera, except maybe if it´s in an upper angle lol

More accurate than photos.
I have friends who look amazing in pics but irl - not so much.

Because in a mirror you find the one specific angle that makes you feel good. Photos are more candid.

phone frontal camera have a little of eyefish, thats why it makes your nose bigger and your eyes wider, it looks like crap.

Try taking pictures with the back camera, and at least 1 meter away from your face.

the best "test" is to record a video, and talk and do shit, like if you were talking to another person, to see what they see.

the focal length "closest to real life" is hard to say. there are really 2 different ones - one for field of view (somewhere below 35mm on a full frame format camera) and one for distortion (somewhere around 80mm, but 50mm is sufficient and anything above will work fine).

it's hard to "translate" because our two eyes form a wider image than the 4:3 camera format, also we have some algorithms in the brain to just correct for distortion in the first place.

selfie cameras on smartphones usually have a focal length below 5mm, because the sensor is so tiny you can't use anything higher of the field of view will be too narrow. that's why you look retarded unless you use a filter. the rear cameras aren't much better either but miles ahead. give >>15625768 a try, rear cam with good lighting and you will look pretty decent. if your phone has optical zoom you might also get good results using that (will need a tripod i guess).

so people look better in real life than in pictures? and the mirror reflect is more accurate than a picture of yourself?

>so people look better in real life than in pictures?
certainly better than smartphone pictures, yes.
>and the mirror reflect is more accurate than a picture of yourself?
the mirror is as close as you can get to how others see you. it may be mirrored, but that makes no difference in how attractive you are, you just get used to that version.

>> No.15626061

>>15625172
There is gonna be some lens distortion unless you use a pro camers from 2+ meters away. So yeah, mirror is basically same as you except mirrored, as accurate as it gets.

many mirrors are meant to deceive you. the iphone selfie camera, bathroom mirrors, and changing room mirrors all distort your face and body to make you look more attractive. usually they make your face and body longer and more defined that what you really look like.
