Laughing at it is what you're supposed to do, that watch is a joke at the expense of the Hodinkee crew with thick wallets but no knowledge of horological history.
Now, Glashütte Original is the direct successor of GuB, the precision mechanics conglomerate set up on the ruins of UFAG/Urofa and Lange by the East German communist government that made millions of mid-tier Eastern bloc shitters during its existence.
What Glashütte Original did was re-thinking the Spezimatic models of the 1960's as if Glashütte didn't come under Soviet occupation and luxury watchmaking would have continued: its name, Senator (a symbol of Western Bloc and US politics) Sixties alludes to that. People will pay big bucks for a 60 years old Eastern Bloc watch design in haute horlogerie execution while the original that inspired it can be had for a few hundred euros at max but no one wants them because it's prestige, not watch design and actual history that people care about. That's the joke, and it's a good one.

Honestly when I look at them my wrists and forearms look extremely dainty, obviously I'm a 1500lbs dude so maybe it's just in comparison to the rest of the body, but I can't imagine people having THAT much smaller wrists that this would be that out of the norm?

My main question is if I could fit a 44mm watch or not, I tried some 42mm ones, and they look fine, but the problem is that I always have to use the last hole on the strap so I'd have to get a custom strap for whatever I get.

The bracelet is alright when it comes to comfort. It's a little rattling with an okay vintage feel to it. The newer bracelets have a much more 'tight' feel to them. The only thing I'd love from the newer bracelets would be the option to adjust the size on the go. I think it's called glide lock.
I'm planning on grabbing a few natos and spicy it up a little. Fortunately my watch has lug holes, so changing the bracelet is easy!

but nooooo, they're seiko and design is the last thing they think about
along with fine finishing and something as simple as bezel, index and chapter ring alignment lol
hence the shitty logo nobody fucking likes
hence the unnecessary and cluttering power reserve indicators on all but the costliest of spring drive models
they have no clue and cuck themselves at every possible opportunity
they even release cheapo models of expensive special editions, mere months after the release of the special
and the specials aren't all that special as their "1500 number" SE is nullified a year later by a release of the same shit but a different dial color

But if you don't HAVE that purpose, it just looks wrong.. like, studying in a library, wtf purpose is there to wear it over a sleeve?

Like those shoulder straps on dress/work shirts, they're meant to be clipped around ammo bag straps, it was to help soldiers carry a lot of shit. I understand the utility. But if I saw someone will their Switch case / carrier strapped to their shoulder, I'd think them daft.

I say go for it, small watches are cool. Tony Soprano wears a 36mm, nobody would accuse him of wearing a ladies watch.

If you find it's too small for you just flip it, or you could sit on it for 10+ years and see if it goes up in value. It's not like watches take up much space.
