I'm thinking about buying a pair of Red Wings. I was in the area so I stopped in to try a couple pairs on. They sized my feet with their computer and it said that I was an 11.5 EE. The sales associate went and got a pair of Iron Rangers that were an 11 regular, and they actually felt pretty good as far as width goes. Do they really run so big that even though I have a double wide foot the regular width is the right choice?

Yes I know that there are some better boots for not that much more money but I am not going to order shoes off the internet.

It is very durable, and ages uniquely. The veg-tan alternative ages more drastically. It is up to you what you like.

I prefer CXL aged over Veg-tan aged in some leathers. Somtimes Veg-tan looks very dark and high contrast when it is very old. CXL seems to reach its full patina by 2 years of wear. This is a good thing or bad thing, depending on how old you want your leather to look. Both are equally good leathers in terms of durability, asuming you're not walking through mud and or rain.

If you are... get a waxed leathers. Guidi seems to hold up better from what I can see. Must be a different curing process, but they do object dye their boots (dye as a completely built shoe).

Maybe a roughout leather is more your thing.

Have had a pair of boots for a year with a weird problem. Full grain oiled leather. They are broken in and when I walk in them they feel fine but whenever I sit in them my left foot starts tingling like it's going numb. This is alleviated by wiggling my toes or walking around. Top row middle pair is natural CXL. They’ve darken slightly after ~2yrs of occasional wear (eg 1-2 times a week). I use saphir renovateur when they need conditioning. If you want a darker more distressed patina you can use coconut oil.

I'm looking to get some casual-ish every day boots, thinking maybe blundstones.
I'd get RM Williams but they're a bit more formal looking and cost like 3x as much, someday perhaps.
But right now I want something that will go with most medium-formality outfits, aka work, uni, pubs, house parties are 99% of the things I go to.
I currently have some caterpillar orson boots but I think I've decided I prefer more structured boots, maybe slightly less slim, something about them just looks a bit off, I think the sole is too thin.
Should I get the blundstone 510 (left) or 550 (right) (they're both black)?
There's the red 150th anniversary ones too but idk wtf to wear red boots with.
Or can anyone recommend something else, I'm aware of redbacks and actually already own a pair but they look a little too much like work boots, I want casual.

I have a pair of the black 587's which are brushed leather (sort of like those 510s), so they look suede, but don't get absolutely destroyed by the elements like suede does.

well, to be honest it's a little bit big, but i would't size down, because i'd put insole and wear them with thick socks and you'll be good with your regular size. just choose your size. my sneakers size is 45 and it's the same for these. i compared them with my pair of docs 1460 and they are pretty similar, docs feels bulkier on the outside but the austrian paraboots feels a little more "roomy" inside. i highly recommend buying them in the forces uniform store to avoid surprises, they are the exact boots like the website picture, they are grade 1 and feels like new ones and also they are broken in and doesn't feel stiff and tight at all. sorry for my english. i hope that helps

Why do you keep mentioning Tyson? Do you even know what his workout routine was? It was hardcore as fuck. Hours of running and skipping. He would wake up at 5am and run for 2 hours, then go back to bed and wake up at 9am and workout again. And the main ingredient was JUICE. Lots of it.

We're talking about a 5'10" guy who was like around 210lbs lean with visible abs. Now compare Arnie on masses of juice, 4 inches taller and just 10lbs heavier at competitions.
