Rolex literally 10 years behind the trends. They should have gone to 41mm back when they dis the maxi lugs, if they were actually ahead of the curve they would have announced they were making it 39mm today. What a fucking joke. And they added a whole bunch of clown colors to thr op and did jack shit for the sub. I guess the need to add one color sub every 3-4 years to properly milk their fanboys. If they dropped the new sub in all those new op colors heads would explode.

The owner is famous for one of the worst cases of evading the question out there: on wus when someone found cheapo tissel chinkshit fliegers or bauhaus muh minimalist watches made with legitimate stowa cases, imprints and all. Basically proved that stowa has nothing to do with germany and is made in china, which is even more of a joke because there to this day there exist some great watchcasemakers in germany. Stowa just had the whole thing made for cheap in china, to the extent that overstock was being used in other chinese brands lmao. I think there were some repurposed dials about too.
When confronted with this on his own bought and paid for subforum on wus he fled immediately after having been a frequent enough participator, for a brand owner, and has remained silent ever since. Not even some smoothing pr fluff. Just clammed up and never posted again lol
I mean, most swiss shit is chinese but at the price stowa is scamming people for you'd at least think the cases and dials would be german because for example fricker/ickler and others still make cases for brands in germany. Archimede and limes are both house brand ickler watches iirc. Stowa just cheaped out big time.
>muh made in germany precision engineering
what a joke.
lmao, and people ate that shit right up for fucking yeeeears when stowa was in such high demand and was the german watch and pilot's watch subforums' darling brand for a decade or more.

Etched boldly on the cases got people assuming it was actually German, after all damasko, sinn, muhle glasshutte, archimede and many others say "made in Germany" and actually are. Stowa propably did use German cases once in the past, but are skimping these days.

How I do hope Rolex abandons the midsized nonsense they're doing now and just go full on 44 and 47 mm so wristlets will stop buying them and the prices of the new ones will approach reasonable and you can get them without sitting on a waiting list for literal years and the wristlets can fight over the 40-41 mm ones on a vicious secondhand market with increasingly higher prices. Then there's no excuse for their shitty as fuck lume.
It's owned and run by the oh so typical cuntish German. If you're interested in Damasko, you'd better be in the US so you can buy from their retailer there who retains an inhouse watchmaker that can do any servicing, that is unless you bought one of their in-house calibers in which case you're probably fucked. Dealing with Damasko directly will yield only frustration, as is well documented.
The most notable case of this was the guy that had rust on his special damasko metal case and bracelet. They refused to acknowledge that this was possible. The guy complained on damasko's own forum and the the moderator, a real buttbuddy of Konrad Damasko himself, stepped in and tried to get a response. I think it may have been well over a year before they attempted to rectify the situation but the case is subpar.
I dropped my DA36 a year ago and would like it serviced, but I sure as hell am reluctant to send it to Regensburg, especially in this climate.
The factory was robbed and trashed recently by """""youths"""" so it'll probably be a while before their logistics is back to normal. It's not a bad watch, all things considered.
Sinn has better design though.

Well every YT channel and Chrono24 prices would suggest that is the exception not the rule. The main reason is there is very little stock in the market. There's a page on jap post that shows the countries expedited, EMS, mail ships to. Regular snail airmail jappost isn't moving at all, but there may be a surface mail option, which means months at sea.
Most sellers I've been dealing with in japan, for pens not watches, are shipping via courier like dhl or fedex. I'm still able to get EMS though due to the abnormally large number of Japanese citizens in my country.

I enjoy a Rolex as much as everyone else does. But, I believe a lot of people are wanting to see Rolex create a completely new watch. What that may be ? I am not sure. They clearly have their bread and butter, but what else can they do apart from pallet swapping ?

Their new OP's are equally as criminal, they almost seem to be trailing off of NOMOS's tail with the pride selection. And if you are going to do interesting colours, why not do more than just faces ? The color ranges are working incredibly well for GS with their seasons and various finishes.

People want to see Rolex do something out of their comfort zone. Notably, with the Rolex name, and to not hide behind Tudor. Even if AP, PP, and Vacheron all have their own experimental productions and their bread and butter.

lug to lug the sub is very reasonable at under 50mm. i’m certain the new sub is just as wearable as the previous incarnations.

aesthetics though is another subject, because i personally can tell the difference right away between the 40mm and 41mm case sizes. not just because of the literal increase in dimensions but the new sub has the hour markers more spread out.

in any case, it’s not like you’re going to lose money on the purchase, so your only concern should be weather you want to buy a new old stock Sub or keep the new one once you receive it.

I like my G-shock, but it's just too bulky for my wrists. My half decent quartz from back before they made everything out of plastic keeps time to about 10spm, and it's way easier to adjust than any digital, all I have to do is pull the crown out, wait until it's synced up, and push it back in. No fumbling with those shitty little Casio buttons and hearing those annoying beeps.

Well with this model of g shock, you literally never have to adjust the time or press any buttons, it uses the atomic clock thing so it resyncs nightly to the exact time, its perfectly accurate to the millisecond because military systems all rely on this atomic clock time.

G shocks are the peak of modern watch technology.

I know, I've got one. The 5 seconds a week it takes to keep my watch accurate is worth it for the sake of having a watch that doesn't look like it was designed by a 5 year old.
