It isn't fake, but "learn social skills" is the way to go if you have it. You don't start out with normal social skills if you're an aspie, but most aspies are smart enough to be able to learn enough social skills to come across as normal and not autistic (but just slightly quirky maybe).

It's not so much learning, such as acting.

I have Asperger's and I "learned" my social skills by observing others and copying them. Eventually I got to the point where I have learned from enough people to try and act normal. It's definitely quirky and a lot of the time I feel like people either think I'm a fucking weirdo anyway.
