My darling bought me a pair of these panties and they are wonderful. Comfortable, best fitting panties I ever had and I love the style. I feel so sexy in them. I find this brand(tomboyx) to be a bit pricey however. Where can I find more panties in this style, with the detailing being like boy briefs but made for girl ass? I have never had panties I love this much, I want my panty drawer filled with them now. I don't mind dishing out money for this brand if I really have no choice, but surely they aren't the monopoly on these panties. What are they even called? Girl-boy briefs? Boyfriend briefs?

The ass ain't the part that's the cinch between male and female undies, it's the front pouch.
Technically most male undies have a more conservative less flattering cut for the ass but that's a style choice, not a function roadblock and you probably are okay with it if you're going for a tomboy style.
What I can recommend you if to keep looking for open pouch style. The pouch works with the two layers of fabric instead of a seam so it can lay flat if you have no junk.
For a more flattering ass you'll need the briefs to be low cut and that's where it stings. Most open pouch briefs are high cut because they're old fashioned. Mariner does sell very nice low cut open pouch briefs but they're 12 bucks a pop for stretch and 20 for pure cotton.

Open pouch is originally to piss at a urinal without having to untuck your shirt if you have the usual menswear garb. As a side effect, it's also a way to have a comfortable pouch without the need for stretch fabric or a central seam right in the middle that's going to rub on your junk.
It serves little to no purpose on women's underwear except giving a male look.
