I have not cut my hair in 16 months (besides clipping it out of my eyes) and honestly I don't know if I ever want to cut it again. I mean obviously I will have to cut it, but right now it's a big curly jewfro (think lil' dicky). Even though I don't do any of the autistic curly upkeep of it like special shampoos and gels (I just use costco shampoo and conditioner once a week), it's still a pain in the ass to deal with the special and length of drying process, only comb it once a week when I shampoo (gets ruined otherwise) so I always shed, it gets fucked up when I sleep on it or wear anything on my head, but the hair has become part of me now. It's always a talking point with people, they either love it or hate it, and nothing about my appearance has ever been noticeable to people before so i like the conversation it creates.

Boys, I'm 25 and have a full head of hair but mad salt n pepper. Feels really bad. Makes me feel older than I am, and it's almost always the first thing people notice about me. I used to do nopoo but it didn't work out. What I do now
Proper shampoo (no sulphates or any of the bad shit)
Coconut oil with a bit of olive about 5 hours before shampoo
Same thing right after shampooing but only enough to just grease the hair, and while the hair is still wet
Massage the oil gently with fingertips (not nails)
Sun dry if you can
After hair has fully dried, brush with a natural hair brush
Oil hair again in the middle of the week (I shampoo once a week too)
Eat healthy. Eggs and nuts and other good protein and water

What should I do with this?
I haven't cut it for a long time at all, I find that its somewhat flat to my head and doesn't look big and fluffy and bouncy like I wish it would. Each day I usually wear a headband loosely and tuck it behind my ears or just tie it. I part it in the middle of my head. I use no products because I don't know what to use but I also HATE the feeling of something in my hair, I tried salt spray once and it didn't do much other than make it feel greasy when I touched my hair.

I'd like to shave my face clean everyday, but the "correct" way of doing things takes way too long and doesn't seem to work for me. I've been trying to shave with a Merkur 34C + feathers and colonel conk's shaving cream for almost half a year now and I still don't get how to shave my morning beard off without shaving against the grain, thus shaving or cutting skin off in the process. Also, I still can't get the hang of mixing shaving cream properly. I got a better shave out of cheap Bic razors. All of this has been really expensive and I'm not getting any benefit out of it. Shaving with the grain does nothing to shave the stubble off. Do I need a more aggressive razor like Muhle R41 and different shaving cream?

Don't quote me on it, but I think it's ok to shave against the grain if you do a "with the grain" and "across the grain" passes before it. Though it depends on how sensitive your skin is. I can't imagine getting a "perfect smooth" shave without going against the grain with my facial hair.
