I love my boots. They’re extremely rare, look amazing, weren’t made in a third world country, and best of all, you can’t even buy them anymore. That being said I don’t feel like sharing here because I enjoy the exclusivity they provide me. Not that you’d likely be able to afford them anyway.

Anyway I’m posting here as I hope you can answer a shoe tree question. Is it okay to remove the shoe tree after a couple of days and the boot dries? Or is it important to keep them inserted at all times when the boot is not being worn?

Shoe trees can do their job too well when left inside of unworn boots for long periods of time. They can dry out the leather. It's fine to use shoe trees all the time if you wear those shoes often, but when storing them for longer periods you're better off wadding up pieces of newspaper to preserve the shoe's shape but prevent any over-drying.

Wolverine has price points around $200 and $400 that seem weirdly similar, and Frye has one exactly in the middle.

I don't know about Frye's but Wolverine is a huge gamble. Few models are MiUSA and the ones that are, specifically 1000 Miles, are known for having spotty quality. Loose grain is frequently cited as a problem. I bought a pair on sale and they are just alright. I would not spend over $200 on a pair of Wolverine's.

I had a pair but returned them because I have wider feet and they were sort of narrow. But my god they were the highest quality pair of footwear that I have ever seen. Amazing quality and leather. Super thick leather but somehow it was still supple. I actually regret sending them back and buying Iron Rangers instead. The Iron Rangers honestly seem like garbage compared to them.
I plan to order a pair of EE width mainstreets in the future
