i bought wayfarers, out of style in 2012

You're a retard.

The only really important part of a pair of sunglasses is the UV-filter. This is either non existant or so poor in cheap glasses that they fade in a week or two.

When your uv protection is gone, the glasses are harmful for your eyes since guess what happens when you look through dark shit? Your pupils widen and let in more light.

All other addons are there for comfort, lens color is a personal preference, glass is much better for clarity than plastic lenses.

Moral of the story: Don't fucking buy 5€ glasses.

It depends where you are. An optician should be able to either check it (literally UV lamp on front of the lens, and point it to a white surface like a piece of paper, if the uv light passes, the protective filter is fucked).

If you're in America, and your neighbourhood optician has a decent lab they can send it to them to remove the filter and apply a new one.

That would cost you a load more compared to buying new lenses, and if they are plastic it might even break since it could have dried out too much over the years.

Just FYI Yellow lenses are not meant to filter out UV rays and are only meant to be worn during overcast / grey weather. The yellow helps with contrast while doing outdoor activities but sucks to actually protect your eyes if its sunny

When Luxottica bought the brand years ago, they stopped the production for a year, then when it came back, the prices where x5.

Then, over the years, the quality went to shit, now they don't even make everything in Italy but in China, and they are not honest enought to mark it on the frames, it's just "RayBan T" (T is for their Tristar factory in China).

I got these for $20 in Santa Cruz and I cannot believe how difficult it is to find glasses with this exact lens shape. I just want square glasses that slightly wrap the face. If there was a polarized high quality version of these for 100-200 I would buy in a heartbeat but it don't exist. Not even ace&tate or any Luxottica brand. And they're pretty solid. I mainly go to them for lenses though. I had my glasses with the red frames done their for the blue lense and the black glasses the burgundy gradient. I wouldn't buy any of their ''vintage'' stock though, the prices are intentionally jacked up so that celebs think they're buying rare stuff, you're much better off going on etsy to find actually vintage frames.
