What are some non-cringe watches? Is Timex cringe?

Who i literally can't see the difference between this watch, they are like totally the same!

Be careful people don't mistake you for a billionaire, ha ha.

Timex has some decent watches, mostly on their minimalist line. This isn't one of them. It looks cheap.

I would strongly recommend you dont buy THIS watch. Timex has some fine watches and this isn't it. It's a fake divers watch which is cringe

It's ok to buy a cheap watch, but it's not ok to buy a cheap watch that impersonates and expensive watch.

If you want to get into watches learn the difference between Quartz, Manual, and Automatic movements. Seiko makes some quality pieces with Automatic movements. If you can spend a few hundred look into a nice (possibly pre-owned) Hamilton or Oris. Once you hit a certain "level" of watch, your money is pretty much just tied up, especially on a pre-owned piece. You can always sell it for close to what you paid. Don't get tricked into bullshit brands like Rado, Movado, Joe Rodeo, Invicta, etc. They are all mass manufactured crap with little to no value on the back end if you ever want to "trade up" Same goes for "luxury" fashion brands like Armani, Some Citizen watches, etc.

I bought myself a $700 pre owned Hamilton, saved for awhile, sold the Hamilton for $650 and used what I saved to buy a Tag Carrera, and once I save a little more I'll sell the tag and combine that with my current savings and get myself a Submariner. I may actually make $100 or so on the Tag compared to what I paid. Would be a little more but I got it polished and cleaned when I first bought it.

Also, eBay's Sold/Completed listings are a good way to compare retail value to "market" value. I've seen watches that sell in the mall for $500+ on eBay in the low $200 range. The mid tier watch game also took a big hit from smartwatches. A lot of people who would have bought a $300-$500 watch now just wear an Apple Watch.

that timex is not worth the $200 they are asking for.
their website doesnt even list what kind of dirt cheap quartz it is.
the glass is acrylic (i guess to go with the vintage vibe?) but that makes it will scratch up easily and you have to polish it.

$200 isnt a lot of money in the watch world, but its also a world where you can get quality hacking mechanical movements, sapphire crystal, actual diving watches etc even at ~$50-$80.

>Is Timex cringe?

nope. I got a timex weekender chronograph and 3 people complimented me on it. which never happened with other watches I had.
timex is pretty based. I have a black chronograph by them as well but it's not as effay so nobody said anything.

if you are going to spend between 200-500 on a watch, only buy one. dont waste your money on shitters that dont hold any value. desu you are better of getting the timex or seiko shitter (BUT ONLY 1) then dont buy anything until you have the money for a rolex. (unless you know what you are doing in the watch market, don't buy anything but rolex, anything else will give you an std)

because people who buy rolexes aren't actually interested in watches they just want to flex money to their echo chamber of other friends who think that the rolexes are valuable. then they keep artificially driving the prices up so that they feel better about themselves.
at least with corona the prices are beginning to correct and people are starting to see through the ridiculousness.

such a meme. never gonna enjoy the thing.

That's what I've never been able to wrap my mind around. If I buy something it's mine I'm keeping it likely until it breaks or to my grave or an heirloom, nothing I buy for any of my collections is intended for future sale.
